Where is Bonds. Oh wait he costs mad dough. We would love to have bonds but i believe the yanks are all spent out. They have already declared they wont chase Vladimir cause he costs too much money. I expect we will make very few aquisitions and go ahead under mannned.

I don't think Bonds would have ever come to NY. He obviously wanted to play in SF very badly. He basically grew up in their dugout idolizing his father and Willie Mays playing for the Giants, so that is what he wants to do more then anything.
Too bad he's all juiced up nowadays. He was the best player in baseball for a long time before this HR race stuff. Suddenly Barry jumps and that bandwagon, gains 100 pounds, and surprise surprise his trainer has already been caught with steroids. More to come, for sure.
Man, I hope Giambi doesn't suck balls again. Or that they bring someone else in to not suck at hitting. Sure, the current roster has the talent to make it to playoffs, but if the Red Sox make ANY big moves, The Boss will have to relatiate. Heads up: Red Sox are negotiating with free agent Andy Pettitte just to talk up his price tag for when he signs with the Yankees. Dirty business. Tactics like this are why they have to publically announce: "We don't want Vladimir Guerrero". Watch, now they'll be able to get him for a fair contract now that they have effectively removed the whole he-said/he-said game from the negotaions. Don't be surprised if it happens. Money talks.

OF COURSE BONDS HAD AN EASY DECISION GOING TO S.F. (IT WOULD HAVE BEEN JUST AS EASY TO COME TO NY FROM PITTS IF THEY ONLY DIDNT COME UP WITH THOSE SUCK ASS METS) THE FAMILY HISTORY THE HITTERS PARK(ESPECIALLY A POWERFUL LEFTY) $80 MIL AND PROMISE OF A NEW BALL PARK BUILT FOR THE BAT OF BARRY BONDS "AWAY". NOW LETS JUMP TO LATER IN THE 90'S WHEN(CHECK ANY CARD FROM THE 80'S) A PUNEY PAIR(NOW DIESEL) OF STRIKEOUT KINGS, BIG" VEINS" MAC AND SLAMMIN "SOME KIND OF ROIDS" SOSA HAVE GONE FROM A HUNDRED K'S AND 40 HR, TO A HUNDRED K'S AND 50+ TO 60+ HRS. BUT THAT WAS A HR RACE DRAWING SELLOUTS AND FLASHBULBS FOR EVERY SWING WITH IT EITHER BEING A HR FOR THEM OR A K FOR THEM, SOMETIMES BUT NOT OFTEN AN INTETIONAL WALK OR EVEN MORE RARE A BASE HIT. NOW AT THE SAME TIME A BIGGER BARRY BONDS OBVIOUSLY ON SOMETHING IS NOW NOT, I REPEAT NOT, STARTING ARGUMENTS WITH UMPS ON EVERY PITCH,(OBVIOUSLY IT MUST BE A STEROID THAT DOESNT AFFECT YOUR ATTITUDE BUT ALSO MAKES YOU MORE MELLOW. PERHAPS A WEED BASED STEROID.) BUT HAS ALSO K'D LESS, WALKED MORE, INT WALKED MORE, HAS BLASTED MORE HR, TIMED 300 PITHCHERS ENOUGH FOR A HR OR TO KNOW HOW LONG HES GOING TO HAVE TO STAND THERE BEFORE HE GETS FIRST, GOES TO OPPISITE FIELD AND NOW JUST TOTALLY INTIMMIDATES SHIT OUT OF MANEGERS AND PITCHERS 5 OUTS BEFOR HES EVEN IN THE ON DECK CIRCLE. ALL THE WHILE BEING BOOED BY EVERY FAN IN EVERY STADIUM ACROSS AMERICA EXCEPT WHERE JBOY SITS. SO NOW WHILE STEROIDS MAKE YOU BIGGER, MORE POWERFUL, STUPIDER, AND STRAIGHT UP MEAN, BONDS HAS GOTTEN BIGGER, CALMER, BECOME THE SMARTEST MOST PATIENT HITTER IN BASEBALL IN OUR DAY. FOR A RING BONDS WILL GIVE UP THE MONEY, THE PARK,(FOR A SHORTER LEFT FIELD LINE ,HIS POWER HOUSE) THE FAMILY HISTORY AND START, WELL ADD TO THE HISTORY OF BARRY BONDS. MAYBE ONLY FOR HIS LAST SEASON OR A TRADE IN THE MIDDLE OF THE SEASON BUT HE WANTS TO WIN. ANY SF FAN WHO WOULD BE OFFENDED BY SUCH A THING IS ONLY A FAN BECAUSE HE HAS THE MONEY FOR SEASON TICKETS. THIS BRINGS MY RAMBLING SELF TO MY LAST STATEMENT. BARRY BONDS IS BEING QUESTIONED ABOUT A CERTAIN DRUG NOW CONSIDERED AN ILLEGAL SUBSTANCE BY ALL PRO SPOTRS BECAUSE ITS CONSIDERED AN ENHANCEMENT BOOSTER. YOU KNOW LIKE ECSTACY WHEN PEOPLE TAKE IT AND FUCK FOR DAYS, OR DRINK BEER AND GET ROWDY AND STRONG, OR IN MY CASE SMOKE WEED FOR MOTIVATION BEFORE I CAN DO MY SATURDAY HOUSE STUFF. ALL OF WHICH ARE ILLEGAL SUSBSTANCES BUT NOT STEROIDS. BARRY BONDS TRAINER WHO GOT POPPED ALSO TRAINED OTHER ATHLETES AND HERE THE'S SHOCKER AMATURE AND PRO WEIGHTLIFTERS AND BODYBUILDERS. BARRY BONDS JASON GIAMBI SAMMY SOSA ALONG WITH SEVERAL FOOTBALL, BASEBALL, AND TENNIS PLAYERS AND SEVERAL INTERNATIONAL ATHLETES ARE ALL IN THE SAME COURT ANSWERING THE SAME QUESTIONS.

Bonds probably did give up money, but to play for SF, regardless of winning or anything. Until he gives up the loungechair and double locker space in the clubhouse and makes any comment about getting better players in SF, I'm not buying that he is all about winning a ring. Bonds was the best player in baseball when he was a skinny basestealing threat. (Little known fact: when we started fantasy baseball around 93, Bonds was first overall pick by me and I called my team 'The I Got Barry Bonds Team') But the HR race of McGwire and Sosa lured him in, since those guys gots tons of props, promotions, and advertising dollars. But for Bonds, I think it's just him wanting to assert himself as the recognized best player in baseball. And he wasn't the only one, it is a well-proven fact that home run hitters earn more than others, even when they are far inferior players. Again, I gotta say, Bonds would be top-player in game, great player without any of this nonsense. I used to disbelieve that steroids could help you, since big strong guys usually suck (Ozzie Canseco anyone? Steve Balboni anyone?) and scrawny dude rules baseball (Jeter, A-Rod, Soriano, etc etc). But recent years have lead me to believe that they won't make you a better hitter, but they will make a good hitter stronger. So if you already K all the time, it's no help, but if you're a 300 hitter, you get better since outs will be flying over the outfield fences. As far as strikeouts go, I disagree. Check his stats. He strikes out less because they don't pitch to him. His most Ks was first season, second most in 2001 (when he hit 73). His last couple years have seen a downturn in Ks, largely because he is walked rather than pitched to. In 2002 he broke the record for walks in a season. Anyway, in 1994: 391 AB & 43 K; in 2003: 390 AB & 58 K. Regarding roid-rage, which :-XJohn Rocker:-X so obviously displayed on the field, if Bonds is only juicing in the off-season, why would he rage> in-season? Actually, the signs point more towards human growth hormone than anything, which I think is a little different from your typical Pumping Iron Arnold brand of steroids. Bottom line is this: Sammy Sosa goes on and on about how he'll take tests anytime, anywhere. Reporter takes him up on offer and schedules a medical exam. Sosa smiles and declines. Sure, there's the breaking union policy issue, but other players have done this very thing just to prove they are clean (remember Chad Curtis anyone?). Sosa reputedly feared a set-up to falsely prove him on the juice. But he could just have easily provided his own tests, but no, he smiles and toes the company line. It's not just Bonds. It's not just Sosa. It's not 100% or even close, but there are guys out there roiding. The flagrant size increase in these guys (Bonds & Sosa) sure demands some attention though. Ignoring it is accepting whatever goes on behind closed doors. I mean, despite shaving his head in reccent years, Bonds has increased his hat size by two sizes. This is not normal, this is not human. Growth in your late thirties is a sign of flagrant drug use of some sort, there can be no doubt.

" INTERNET FIGHT ONLY"
LETS FIRST START WITH THIS HEAD SIZE. TAKE A LOOK AT ANY BOXER AT AGE 25 AND THEN AGAIN AT 35. TELL ME HOW MANY OF THE ARE SUFFICENTLY BIGGER AT 35. I DONT CHECK HAT SIZE BUT I DO KNOW EVERY SEVEN YEARS THE BODY CHANGES ALL THROUGH LIFE. METABOLISUM, WEIGHT,HEIGHT, ALL THAT GOOD STUFF. NOW THE BEST EXAMPLE I CAN GIVE OFF THE TOP OF MY HEAD IS OSCAR DE LA HOYA. 5 YEARS AGO HE WAS THE SKINNIEST SCRAWNIEST MAN IN BOXING LOOK AT HIM IN HIS LAST FIGHT. THEREFORE MY POINT IS GET ME BONDS HAT AND SHOW ME IT GREW 2 SIZES. 2ND ANY MAN CAN GROW AT ANY TIME HE CHOSES TO ASSERT HIMSELF.
3RD BONDS HAS BEEN AND WILL BE THE BEST PLAYER IN BASEBALL. NOT BECAUSE OF HIS HRS,BB,INT BB,OR ANY OF THOSE OTHER STATS REGULAR PLAYERS NEED TO MAKE THEMSELVES LOOK GOOD BUT BECAUSE HE IS 40 YEARS OLD AND STILL DOESNT GET HALF OF THE PLATE APPEARENCES AND HE IS IN THE TOP FIVE HBP EVERY YEAR ON TOP OF THOSE OTHER STATS.
LETS ME INTRODUCE A NEW RULE. WE CAN CALL IT RULE B/B. FOR BARRY AND THE BABE SINCE THOSE ARE THE ONLY 2 PLAYERS IN HISTORY TO BE SHIT ON AT THE PLATE EVERY AB OF EVERY GAME OF EVERY SEASON. THE RULE IS THIS: AN INTENTIONAL WALK IS NOW A DOUBLE. THATS RIGHT A DOUBLE. INT BB ARE THE WORST THING IN BASEBALL NEXT TO THE WAY HOME FIELD WORKS IN THE WORLD SERIES.
THAT BRINGS ME TO MY FINAL 2 POINTS. BONDS HAS LESS PLATE APPEARENCES BUT MORE STATS THEN ALL THESE OTHER GUYS SKINNY OR NOT. JUST REMEMBER THIS AND YOU WOULD ACTUALLY HAVE TO SEE AN AT BAT. WHEN THEY DONT INT BB HIM THEY TRY TO PITCH AROUND HIM. THATS RIGHT. BARRY BONDS HAS NOT BEEN PITCHED TO(MAYBE 10% OF AT BATS AND THATS BEING WAY GENEROUS FOR ARGUEMENTS SAKE) IN THE LAST 5 YEARS BUT STILL MANAGES TO PUT UP THE NUMBERS HE DOES. SO IMAGINE MAGUIRE OR SOSA HITTING 70 HRS WHILE BEING PITCHED AROUND? I DONT THINK SO. THEY WERE NOT AVOIDED AS A MATTER OF FACT IT WAS LIKE PITCHERS WERE LINING UP TO BE PART OF THAT SHOW.
AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST BONDS WILL LEAVE S.F FOR LESS MONEY AND A CHANCE AT A RING. AT WHAT EVER AGE THAT HAPPENDS HE WILL STILL BE THE BEST AND MOST AVOIDED PLAYER IN THE GAME. AND I SERIOUSLY DOUBT YOULL SEE BONDS DOING ANY PROMOTIONS FOR ANY ONE

*touches Internet gloves*
Babe Ruth is my main man. I wake up every day and worship at an idol to him. Then I sacrifice a chicken to him and spill out some beer. If this is your devotion to Barry Bonds, nothing I can say or do would ever convince you otherwise. But I'll try, since it would be boring otherwise...
The bodily growth occurred over a shotr period of time, say two years. If he steadily increased for a decade and everyone knew he was just an aborrhation of flesh, that would be one thing, but he willed himself into gigantism over two years, coinciding with the fallout of McGwire-Sosa. This would be a good X-files investigation...
I've heard the Int BB rule before, I think from Bobby Valentine? Only there is a variation. I think they had it as first one a single, second a double, third time a triple, and every time after that a HR. Makes some sense to me, but baseball never changes and I doubt anyone up there is considering this. I just wish they would just say INTENTIONAL and give the guy first instead of throwing four stupid pitches, that is silly.
I agree Bonds never gets pitched to. When he does it is because they cannot walk him. Hence, the increase in batting average. If pitchers only take shots at the man when they are in trouble, he will have very good shots to get hits. It works in his favor, winning batting titles that way. He is an elephant up at the plate.
My point: A-Rod will exceed Bonds by the time he plays enough years. And he is far from a giant himself. If Soriano could do it for twenty more years (he cant) he'd bypass Bonds. It's why I like baseball, you gotta be great for a helluva long time to make the Hall. Bonds is a guaranteed first ballot inductee. He is unreasonably good at this game. It IS tainted by his alleged chemical enhancements.
And until Barry gets traded or something like that, I just don't believe him preferring a ring to his situation in SF.

Back to what we all really care out: the Yankees... ;D
They have reportedly signed Gary Sheffield, Tom "Flash" Gordon, Enrique Wilson, and John Flaherty. Espn also reports that they are trying to work a deal for Kevin Brown.
What this means is that George THE BOSS is under full control again and will make some stupid moves. Espn had a good article about the Yanks already having four DH candidates over the next few years. The Move to make is dealing Giambi. But he is promoted heavily and worth a lot to the business side, so he might stay. This puts Nick Johnson out for grabs. Soriano too of course.
I am very afraid of what will happen these next few months. David Wells may be back. Pettite should be. Who knows what else.
At least we got rid of that chump ex-Met Lee Mazzilli, hahahahahaha, Mets suck ass.

YES YES YES,
Your post is sparatic and your tone uncertain. You can only be sensing the same feelings i have had. That stuff is up for grabs. I feel like i have no idea whats going on in the organization. I feel like tommorro i could wake up the yankees may have traded yankee stadium for a few rookie prospects. What the hell. The lose of clemens and probably wells compiled with Chilling buckling down in boston has me all confounded. I AM AFRAID, VERY AFRAID OF BOSTON. My Yankee compatriots have tried to comfort me with talk of "Injury prone pitching" and other such concepts but to no avail. God save the queen and the united states of america and the New York Baseball Yankee's.

In: Javier Vavquez, Gabe White, & Felix Heredia Out: Nick Johnson, Randy Choate, and Juan Rivera
That's two pitchers who could do nothing last year in the playoffs and one who has never so much as sniffed the playoffs coming in with two guys with major playoff experience leaving and a chump useless lefty finally gone.
My take on Vavquez: he's great. But they should have not gotten rid of Johnson. That's a major mistake. The Boss loves older guys with bigger numbers and ignores anyone that preaches youth and intangibles. I expect more to come. Hopefully not worse. At least Vavquez is the bomb. Just hope he doesn't pull a Jeff Weaver.

HERES A BELL BONDS WILL NEVER BE THE BABE A-ROD WILL NEVER BE BONDS AND NEITHER WILL EVER GET A RING
AS FAR AS THE YANKS I JUST WANT TO THANKS. IT IS BECAUSE OF THE YANKS THE BEANIE BABIES WENT OUT AND GOT SCHILLING. MEANING THE GIANTS WILL HAVE WON THERE DIVISION BY THE TIME THE METS ARE MATHMATICALLY ELIMINATED FROM PLAYOFF CONTENTION.(WHICH USUALLY IS BY ALL-STAR WEEKEND).
BUT THE NEWEST DEAL GETTING RID OF NICK JOHNSON THAT IS GONNA HURT. THAT MEANS THE BLIND GUY WILL HAVE TO PLAY FIRST EVERY GAME. NO TELLING WHAT WE ARE GOING TO SEE (OR IN HIS CASE NOT SEE). GETTING THE SHEF WAS GOOD BUT NOW THEY ARE TALKING ABOUT MAKING BERNIE A FULL TIME DH? I THINK THE BOSS IS FINALLY THREATENEND BY THE STANK SOX. THE MOVES ARE GOOD BUT NOT WHEN YOU HAVE TO START SHUFFLING GUYS AROUND. WHEN YOU ARE A CONTENDER THE ONLY GUYS THAT YOU SHOULD PICK UP ARE GUYS THAT FIT.
SHEF IS GOOD BUT ITS NOT GOOD WHEN YOU HAVE OTHER TEAM PLAYERS GUESSING IF THEY WILL BE PLAYING. TEHY SHOULD HAVE KEPT JOHNSON AND DEALT GIAMBI IF THATS WHAT IT CAME DOWN TO. THEN AGAIN IF THIS PITCHER THEY GOT WON 13 GAMES LAST YEAR FOR MONTREAL THAT MEANS HE HAS THE POTENTIAL TO WIN 17 OR 18 WITH THE YANKS RUN SUPPORT BUT IS HE WHO YOU REALLY WANT GOING AGAINST SHILLING OR PEDRO OR EVEN WAKEFIELD?

Agreed nearly entirely. I do think A-Rod will have awesome stats when he retires in 2030, close to or better than Bonds if he plays at the level he has been. I am afraid of Boston trading for him, but he never won shit so maybe there's nothing to be afraid of and it would really tie up Boston's salary.
Yanks are going all out to win now rather than later. Typical businessmen. Fine. However, these dudes keep getting older and have long contracts. Every year they will get older and slower and worse. This is very bad for a lifelong Yankee fan.
However there is always the Mets to laugh at. They are trying to sign Matsui. A Japanese shortstop. He will be as good as the one they already have: Jose Reyes and cost $30 Million. All this while Miguel Tejada is available on the market. And their closer is John Franco the ageless wonder? Come on! Stupid Mets' Jim Duquette said the other day, "I watch what the Yankees are doing, and you know you can't compete with them. It's not realistic to think that way. No one in the game can complete with them, the way they spend." (http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/columns/story?columnist=klapisch_bob&id=1678253) Does he not realize that they do not compete with the Yankees at all in any way shape or form. Different league for one, Mets suck ass for two. Mets have fourth highest payroll in their league (7th overall) and finished dead last in their division for three. Check mate.
Giants may wrap things up in their division, but they need something to get them into World Series. I don't know them as well as Yanks. From what I watched in playoffs, it seemed lineup was weak in lots of parts. And they are re-signing Snow at first. He's a gloved wonder, but his bat is weak. They got some old dudes there too. I recently learned Benito Santiago testified right after Bonds at that trial. Uh-oh! Doh! Also learned Bonds' trainer recieved a ring from the team when they advanced in post-season play. This is a mad crazy reward for some guy that doesn't play. I mean not even all players on the team get a ring, this is always a big deal, since teams are really cheap about giving the things out. Anyway, the nasty return of Robbbbb Nennnn should be just like of signing one of the best free agents out there.

12/11/2003 4:58 PM ET Statement from George M. Steinbrenner "We hate to lose Andy Pettitte. We want to thank him for his many contributions to the New York Yankees and we wish him the best of luck with his new team. He is a fine competitor and a gentleman. We know the fans may be disappointed but if you're counting us out next year, don't bet the house." Fuck this guy and the banana boat of my money he has already. The Yanks were awesomely developed in mid-90s, coinciding with him being suspended from baseball operations. He likes old guys with good baseball cards stats and overvalues recent season success as an indicator of future success. Kevin Brown is Mr. Injury. He reeks of Jack McDowell, who Yanks signed and got hurt the next day it seemed. Vavquez reeks of Weaver, guys with goods numbers in small markets who never met pressure before. Sheffield reeks of Mondesi, a pampered athlete who failed to fit into the team mechanic that was once the Yanks success. To let Pettitte go is totally unacceptable. This angers me and I literally felt like someone punched me when I learned the sad news. Worst part is Kevin Brown is going to make close to what Pettitte would have, is 39 already (Andy is 31), and can only get worse - if he manages to play out his contract at all. Oh God this could so be Mo Vaughn all over again. I repeat, this team keeps getting older light years faster than anyone else. Fine for the moment, like if you are the Arizona Diamondbacks, but I am a lifelong Yankee fan upset at the prospect of watching them suck wind with wooden legs and false teeth out there down the road. Next year could be awful and worse in two years.

One of the main sources of success for the Yanks was the ability to retain talent. This was slipped last year and has now totally gone out the window. They trade prospects away for nothing. It sickens me.
Bernie Williams, Jorge Posada, Mariano Rivera, Derek Jeter all came through the system. And stuck around long enough to be champs.
Andy Pettitte, Ted Lilly, Nick Johnson, Marcus Thames, Juan Rivera, Ramiro Mendoza, were pros when they were departed. But the prospects... that's how the Yanks let Fred McGriff and Willie McGee go. This is how the Boss operates. He goes for "sure things" and disregards talent evaluations and the voices of people that actually know the game.
Only worse will come I fear.
What prospects will the Yankees trade away to get a 39 year old pitcher with a career-long history of injury?

out: David Wells
He signed with San Diego Padres. For same money as Yankees were offering, but because he was guaranteed a slot in the rotation, unlike in NY, where they told him he had to earn it. He should be SD's #1 and their #5? Sterling Hitchcock.

I did not entirely expect to keep petite. And while i wont forget his great performances he was not my main man or nothing. However in the very least i thought we would retain wells. I love that fat old basterd. He is a budget deal for any team. I was hoping in the absense of other pitchers he would somehow miraculously step up this year. But all is now folly. Eh, whatever. The yankees organization deserves this. When he was at his best we did drop him for a guy with great baseball card stats. As buck said. I will miss the fat man. Is the organization a sinking ship now. With hands about to be abandoning?
I hope not.
