Great post Ken, I always find anecdotal evidence from personal experience very interesting. A couple family members "converted" that way and all it meant was that the Jewish side would condone the marriage from ever happening and would still never recognize these people as Jews, nor their children. Too right, "like a secret club you can never belong to and wouldn’t want to belong to anyway."
The Dave Buckley peace plan: Either let the Jews kill off all the Arabs or give the Arabs a pile of dirt somewhere to call their own. In either case, US should have no involvement as we wash our hands and take care of business elsewhere, preferrably in the homeland. Make a buddy system for Iraqi and US soldiers and pretend like we are following them around in peace keeping actions even though we aren't. After a couple weeks of inflated authority for these Joe Blows, hand them the keys and call it a day.
Yeah, I am NO politican boy....... Yeah, I second the getting away from oil thing. But I find it hard to swallow as a reason to back Israel over there or have any involvement with them presently.
Burn 'em all... 100% Americans for 0% involvement.

Long time ago I voiced concern about the white man terrorists. Specifically within US. And now this face: story.news.yahoo.com/news?tmpl=story&u=/afp/20040507/ts_alt_afp/spain_attacks_us_040507190645"The fingerprints of US lawyer Brandon Mayfield, who has been arrested in the United States on suspicion of connections with the Madrid bombings in March, have been found on a bag linked to the devastating attacks a source close to the investigation said. "The fingerprints were found on a bag containing detonators, like those used (in the March 11 attacks)," the source told AFP on condition of anonymity. He confirmed that the bag, containing seven detonators, was found in a van discovered by police on the day of the attacks in the Alcala de Henares suburb of Madrid. The van also contained traces of Goma-2 Eco explosive, which investigators said was used in the attacks, the worst in Spain's history. " This man's fingerprints must have been linked to records in US military (army), where the guy once served. He married a middle eastern woman, converted to Islam and has three children with her. He practices law and once defended "Muslim terrorism suspect Jeffrey Battle in a child custody case". ("Battle was among six Portland-area residents who were sentenced last year on charges of conspiring to wage war against the United States by helping al-Qaida and the former Taliban rulers of Afghanistan"). Oh yeah and his paternal grandmother, Lydia Mayfield, was once investigated by the FBI (for a letter to the editor published in the local newspaper in which she threatened the president. I hate this guy.

My wife is vacationing in Washington on a mad long field trip for her schooling. Anyway, her first reaction was "are we going to invade Oregon now" har-dee-har-har.
Whenever I have thought of "stopping terrorists" I think they ways to accomplish it are all horrible invasions of property, but like Robby says, it's well worth the mild mild mild sacrifice. There is always a money trail, that's my thinking.....

You know Hamas and Hezbollah were the only ones other than Suadi Arabia and United Arab Emirate to publicly denounce the Nick Berg viceo. Only point that out to support my case these guys are different cats than the al-Quaeda types. Side note: big ups to Colin Powell for basically calling out the entire region for not having te same outrage that they should have to this.
Yes, Israel sends rockets into homes of Hamas leaders and follows up with snipers who shoot anything moving near the debris. This activity is sure to continue to rise as they unilaterally approach an Israeli solution. Reminds me of Castro sending his criminals on boats to America as a solution to his crime problems. Solutions yes, optimal no, but we should only care so much in what it demands of our nation. I think what we're seeing Israel do is really them with their gloves off as American interests are occupied elsewhere and we have no time for it. SO, I expect the most drastic actions by Israel to take place before July 1st, just a hunch.

Every single Terrorist group on earth Denounced the Nick Berg thing Not true. In fact, most Middle Eastern governments even had no comment. Nor their media outlets either. I guess it may me more par for the course over there though, but still you think there would be some of the shock that there was here.

on face value the berg beheading doesnt have the same effect on arab people as us. over thier beheading is a pretty standard form of exacution, of course they dont normaly do it with a serrated knife. i personally have not heard any arab comment on it. these guys should probally go hide with bin laden because you know we will be coming for them.
i read today that we blow up and arab wedding in iraq ,i wonder if this was retaliation for the berg thing.

Yeah man not the first accusation either. Afghanistan July 2002 had something like that. At these weddings these idiots shoot rifles in the air to celebrate a wedding. Stupid enough, but when there is a US jet flying overhead obviously suicidal. I've come to doubt most of the reports from the region and think most Middle Eastern reporters are sensational like tabloids and not respectable Ted Koppels by any measure. But yeah, they said this crap happened in Iraq, but after they followed up in Afghan they found mad bombs and shit at the "wedding" and no wedding things. Not that we would recognize their wedding things, since they are likely dirt pies and toilet paper party favors.
Public executions par for the course over there no doubt. But the man was innocent. I guess maybe their judicial systems are not very just.

www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,120783,00.html PORTLAND, Ore. — A federal court threw out the case Monday against an Oregon lawyer arrested in connection with the Madrid train bombings, citing a fingerprint-identification error by the FBI. Brandon Mayfield, a 37-year-old American convert to Islam, was released from custody last week. But he was not altogether cleared of suspicion at the time; the government said he remained a "material witness" and put restrictions on his movements. Those restrictions were lifted Monday. "Due to the misidentification by the FBI of a fingerprint, the court orders the material witness proceeding dismissed," read a statement posted on the U.S. District Court's Web site. "The court orders all property seized to be returned to the material witness." Furthermore, the court said that any copies of Mayfield's property held by the federal government were to be destroyed, and that all documents in the case would be unsealed. FBI officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, had said that his fingerprint matched one found on a bag of detonators near the train station in Madrid in the deadly March 11 bombing. But last week, Spanish authorities said the fingerprints of an Algerian man were on the bag. Family members said that even after Mayfield's release last week, he was not allowed to leave Oregon and he had to ask for permission to leave his house. DKB says: I STILL hate this guy. Even if he's innocent. Dude represented terrorist as a lawyer. Bad idea.

in my bush sluring research ive discovered that the congress under the control of the democrats have to take much of the responsibility for 9/11 since it was them that defunded the cia in the late seventies and later during the bush senior adminastation. of course many repubs voted for this to. i guess it was the idea that the soviet union was the only threat and after they started losing power thier was no need for the cia to have such an inflated budgit . i guess no one forsaw the emergence of a world wide terrorist organization. has anyone heard about this?
