Yeah, when I saw the undead book I thought that was a great idea. So was the Dragon book. Classic that they totally confiscated other poublisher's ideas: Quintissenial Warrior became Complete Warrior etc and now they are marching down the Slayer's Guides.

I think I must be dreaming: www.walmart.com/catalog/product.gsp?cat=18762&dept=3920&product_id=2672899&path=0%3A3920%3A18762%3A18807%3A18821%3A18826%3A21501Thirty Years of Adventure: A Celebration of Dungeons & Dragons Author: Wizards, Of The Coast List Price: $49.95 Our Price: $30.57 You Save: $19.38 (39%) Hardcover, 320 pages Pub. Date: Oct 2004, Publisher: Wizards of the Coast ISBN: 0786934980 Description: A retrospective celebrating the 30th anniversary of the Dungeons & Dragons(c) brand. Thirty years ago, the Dungeons & Dragons roleplaying game made its debut on game shelves and kitchen tables everywhere. Since then, it has grown into a worldwide phenomenon encompassing roleplaying, miniatures, novels, computer and video games, movies, and music, and it has influenced the world of fantasy in ways few other brands have. This new collector's book celebrates that rich history by taking a look at the past, present, and future of the D&D brand. The book will be filled with essays and photographs of the events, products, personalities, and art that have graced the world of Dungeons & Dragons over the years. Rich in vivid detail, each page will help tell the story of the evolution of the D&D experience and its place in our culture. Even celebrities will be part of the action, whether by sharing their fond memories of sitting around the gaming table or relating how the D&D experience has shaped their lives and their careers." www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=products/dndacc/965550000Weird. I wonder how they would be able to tiptoe around the lawsuits dealing the origins (Gygax, Arneson, and friends) not too mention the TSR legacy. Will Tom Hanks appear in interview about his Mazes and Monsters film? Will Vin Deisel talk about roleplaying? OR will it be a hundred pages of pictures of fat unimportant men and their biographies? I can see it now: "Barf never knew he could color until TSR hired him, now he makes $50,000 filling in the lines of people's pictures. Here's 10 pages of him in action". HA!

It gets worse. There is a movie called Uber Goober about gamers. It dedicates time to Live Action Role Playing, so I refuse to associate myself with it and deny it the respect of a link. It's out there and Gygax is in it and it's a social documentary that basically makes fun of people that think DnD is evil and shows retards with rubber swords.

I could swear from your own lips I have heard to run away from anyone that does this Live Actions stuff!!! You are a riddle wrapped within an enigma Larry. If you were here though I would pour massive amounts of liquor down your throat and make you tell me all about this stuff. Do people pretend to be wizards and throw sand at each other? Is there a man servant who people yell at when they want a beer or a bandaid (CLERIC)? Is this covered in the movie?
I suppose for the record I should disclose that I have participated in a fencing exhibition at the Galleria Mall about a year and half ago and that is not far from the realm of rubber swords. I would like to pretend it was more credible, but I am incredible, sort of the incredible edible egg.

I will now include any relivant information i have here. A long time ago LIVE ACTION D&D was 4 dudes with ribber swords all playing fighters running through a maze lined with matts. People dressed as monsters would jump out and keep track of many times they got hit. That was it.
Now it has evolved. The fighterw still do the same thing but there are wizards too. The wizards have multi-colored hackie sacks which they through at people. There are only like 7 spells though. They simulate verbal components by saying the spell name 3 times before they through their hackie sack. If they get hit while speaking they are doomed. The other spells i know are invisibility which the guy wheres a bandana and teleport where the person says teleport over and over until they get to their destination. That is my story and i am sticking to it.
