verry sorry.i read j-boys post on the fantacy site and became curious to what was going on.so then i came here to see what was said and found verry little except for another angry j-boy post.i could not contact j-boy or rob to get the facts and after that i could not stop thinking about what might have been said.i became a little angry just thinking about just who said what.i did not have a bad day at work and did not intend to insult everyone just who i figured was involved in this arguement that aparently never happened.they were blanket statments due to a lack of a target. it was my guess they might be affraid to voice their opinion in public.so again sorry to all those who did not accuse me and j-boy of cheating but if you did in public or not then please revisit my previous post then go fuck your self.

JESUS H. CHRIST! Hey Booth and J-boy, when I posted that last post about trading Chris Simms, I wasn't implying anybody was cheating. I was just busting balls. ;D ;D I was satirizing the fact that J-boy was complaining about all these lame trade offers he was getting for his good players and decided to poke fun at the situation by doing the same thing. We all know Chris Simms is out for the year, and Deuce is a great player that I'd love to have on my team, so I decided to bust balls. Balls busted, mission accomplished. ;D ;D Hee Hee

WELL SPEAKING FROM EXP AS A GUY WHO USUALLY ONLY HAS A 5 MAN ROSTER BY NOW I HAVE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO PICK A GUY ON GAMEDAY ESPECIALLY A 1 FOR 1 TRADE UNLESS (GOING BACK TO MY LAST POST) I WAS GIVING UP PAYTON MANNING FOR BEACON HIGH SECOND STRING KICKER. I DIDNT PROTEST OR CRY OR EVEN CALL N C WHAT THAT WAS ALL ABOUT SINCE I WOULD LOVE TO KNOW HOW TO GET ANY ONE IN THIS LEAGUE TO GIVE UP A 1 FOR 1 FAIR TRADE.

Let's get to the bottom of this. This is the trade log on the Fantasy Football website for JBOY. Both these trades went through.
Sep 23 9:01am S. McNair (Bal - QB) FROM Jboys Raiders TO J-Mack's Squad R. Grossman (Chi - QB) FROM J-Mack's Squad TO Jboys Raiders
Sep 26 8:28pm Sa. Moss (Was - WR) T. Barber (NYG - RB) FROM Jboys Raiders TO ARMTWISTERS
T. Glenn (Dal - WR) D. McAllister (NO - RB) FROM ARMTWISTERS TO Jboys Raiders
At first glance the trade for McNair and Grossman seems a little lopsided. Grossman had just had the game of his life and looked to be on his way to becoming one of the NFL's elite QB's. Not to mention, it was a trade between brothers. It seemed as if JMACK was trying to help out his brother's struggling team.
However, on second glance, if Grossman gets injured like he has in the past, (because he is injury prone), then the trade is a total disaster for JBOY. So there is tremendous upside, and tremendous downside, if history repeats itself, for JBOY. Taking that into account, the trade is plausible.
If anything, JMACK should have raked JBOY over the coals and gotten another good player for Grossman. But McNair has a lot of potential on a Ravens team that simply needs a dependable QB and a solid leader on the offense.
Regarding trades: there are obviously many different philosophies for every coach. I, for one, like to wait to make trades until the first few games of the season go by. Pre-season doesn't prepare players for the regular season and many players struggle through the first few games until they hit their stride. Other coaches go into panic mode right away when their star running back doesn't run for 200 yards and score three touchdowns in the first five minutes of the first game of the season. They begin making trade offers right away. I prefer to sit back and wait, tweak my team, get to know my players intimately (oh baby ;D), their strengths and weaknesses, then evaluate my immediate, dire needs, and my long-term needs. Once I go through this process, I try to address these needs through trades. Sometimes I am successful, sometimes I am not.
The bottom line, don't panic!
One thing I would like to see, a change in this league, that I think would help every coach tweak and improve their team throughout the season, is the addition of a waiver wire that each coach has access to every week, throughout the season. An opportunity to pick up and drop players, on their own, every week. Friends of mine that also play Fantasy Football on Yahoo have this system in place. I think it would be cool if we had it as well.
On thing that hinders this league is the extreme level of parity. We've discussed this before, in years past, and my next comment may be controversial, but there are probably two players too many in the league. If there were two less players, there would be more star talent to go around in the draft and a possible waiver wire. Coaches would be able to tweak teams better, there would be more movement of players, there may be less complaining. Just a thought.
That's my two cents, for what it is worth.

LAST YEAR THERE WERE AT LEAST FOUR TRADES THAT SHOULD HAVE NEVER HAPPEN BUT DID AND I DIDNT GIVE A FUCK CERTAINLY NOT ENOUGH TO PROTEST. THIS YEAR TWO MORE BUT I JUST WANT TO PLAY NOT CRY OR COMPLAIN. The only trades you were not in on this year were my two. You really thought they were unfair? If you really do, I don't think of that as you accusing me of cheating or calling me a scumbag. I don't get where the anger is supposed to be directed at because there's no names ever used. I'm hoping the rest of the year doesn't have do have these tirades every week, it takes a lot of fun out of things. I do understand that's what just happened to you, someone took the fun out. What would put the fun back? Ken, I'm in another league with a waiver wire and I love it. Injuries, bye weeks, you're covered. I've lost guys trying to hide them on waiver while they are hurt or on bye week before too. It's another dimension of gameplay. That league has guys who are all routinely on the computer though, and I don't think everyone in this league spends as much time online as myself or yourself. In a couple Yahoo public leagues I played in baseball over the past two years the trend is this; the guy who makes the most moves finishes first and the guy who makes the second most finishes second, etc. Maybe if there ever becomes a waiver it's handcuffed by a limitation of moves to allow 5 instead of 500 moves. If Yahoo do that.

Yeah, i was already looking for a waiver wire system next year. Aside from all its other benefits it releaves me the commish of many responisbilites. Which let me assure you with this many teams they have increased dramatically.
The only thing i dont like about waivers is it devalues the draft. Plus shatters team consistancy. Kindof like the fantasy equivilent to Free Agency killing sports. But it is kindof the solve all the almost all problems.
I hope whatever madness is shooting through this thread right now will end soon.

i understand why j-boy is angry.if i got phonecalls following my trades i would assume someone was crying too.i understand the comish and his reasoning and if he says there was no complaints about a trade then i belive him.at the same time i can see how the calls might make you think.this whole anonymous protesting thing is total bullshit and a bitch thing to do.its ok to protest a trade i made but tell me your doing it dont tell rob to tell me.the coaches in the leauge are my friends not some random people i joined an online game with.if you cant respect me enough to tell me your protesting my trade how can i be expected to respect the fact that it was protested?this is the kind of crap that makes someone want to lash out at the leauge indirectly shiting on everyone untill someone says "it was me i admit it".as far as waivers i dont like or want them.to me there is only 2 ways to do it and make it worth doing, either cut teams or reduce roster size.both of these reduce the fun for me.i dont want to face the same 3 teams week after week and also spreading the tallent also makes it more competitive if every one has 5 all-stars on their team then we basicaly all have the same team.it also takes away the need to research as much, take shots on possible breakout players or even have much of your own opinion.no offence to buckley but i feal the baseball leauge suffers from some of these things, sometimes excluding the frontrunner i feal every team is the same as the next just with diffrent names.and im sorry for saying this rob but i hope the madness on some lesser level can continue because its what brought me back to the message board.not to say my being back is a good thing for anyone.

GOOD NOW YOU ALL SEEM TO BE UNDERSTANDING. I DONT CARE HOW MANY TEAMS THERE ARE I DONT CARE YOU COULDNT WAIT 20 EXTRA MIN FOR ME TO SHOW UP FOR MY OWN ROLL OF THE FANTASY DICE, I DONT CARE 2 GUYS JUST PICK THE TOP RATED GUY WHEN COMES THERE PICK, OR 2 GUYS JUST LISTEN FOR NAMES AROUND THE FANTASY TABLE AND PICK BY THAT, I DONT CARE IF YOU PICK UP A PLAYER 30 MIN BEFORE GAME TIME FROM 1 OF YOUR BUDDIES.I JUST WANT TO HAVE FUN. FROM THE DRAFT TABLE 2 TALKING SHIT EVERY WEEK BUT THE FUN IS OVER ALREADY DO TO SOME BULLSHIT(AND AN 0-3 RECORD)
LIKE I TOLD ROB G YOU GUYS LOOK AT PTS BY A PLAYER AND THAT SHOULD NEVER BE THE CASE. THAT MEANS THE ONLY FAIR TRADE FOR MCNABB WOULD HAVE TO BE UR BEST WR AND RB BECAUSE COMBINED THEY STILL DONT HAVE THE SAME AMOUNT OF PTS? IF I GAVE UP 3 PLAYERS TO EQUAL HIS PTS SOMEONE WOULD SAY CHEATER--HOW CAN HE GIVE UP 3 GUYS FOR 1 AND TO HIS BROTHER OR HIS BEST FRIEND. THIS IS WHERE THE HOLE KNOWING WHAT THE FUCK UR R TALKING ABOUT COMES INTO PLAY. I AM NOT SAYING I KNOW EVERYTHING ABOUT FOOTBALL BUT UNLESS YOU ARE TRADING CULPEPPER OR MCNABB OR EVEN BLEDSOE THE ONLY TRADE NOT FAIR IS IF YOU TRADED FOR AN IR PLAYER.
THIS IS NOT BASEBALL OR BASKETBALL WHERE THERE ARE 5 OR 6 PLAYERS THAT ARE GREAT AT EACH POS. THIS IS FOOTBALL WHERE EVERYONE IS JUST AS EQUAL. GROSSMAN WAS TOP RATED QB IN LEAUGE FOR THREE WEEKS(UNTIL I GOT HIM) I DIDNT SEE ANYONE OFFER MANNING OR MCNABB FOR HIM(NOT THAT I WOULD EITHER BUT I AM JUST MAKING POINT) T.O AND T.GLENN TOGETHER DONT HAVE THE POINTS S.SMITH HAS AND HE PLAYED 1 GAME DOES THAT MEAN IT WOULD ONLY BE A FAIR TRADE 2 FOR 1.
ANYWAY I HAVE ESCORTED 500 LB ELEPHANT(BY THE WAY HE WAS DAMN NEAR BOOFUS AND CHEEZ PROPORTION) OUT OF SIGHT. MY #518-7880 IF THERE IS SOME PROBLEM LET ME KNOW. I WILL TELL YOU RIGHT NOW THOUGH THERE COULD BE LOTS OF TENSION AT NEXT YEARS DRAFT IF THIS CONTINUES(MORE SO THAT E.MANNING GETTING DRAFTED BY S.D)

If the league was reduced by two teams, you still wouldn't be facing the same three teams week after week. I mean, on the fantasy football website at the time of this writing, one team STILL has not substituted players on a bye week. I wonder if this team will! If this team doesn't, that is so fuckin unfair, because that's a gimme game for the team playing them. So the question is, does the league really need that team? Is that coach really responsible enough to be in the league?
Everybody already has five all-stars on their team, who cares if there are a few more. Every all-star doesn't have a great game every week, so research would still be important.
And as far as break-out players, this concept is mostly bullshit. Trying to pick which rookie, or back-up player, or unknown, will be the break-out player of the year is just an exercise in ego. We all try it, nobody is successful. We all wind up jostling for position at the mid-year draft for that receiver that is having a good year, and guess what, he didn't get picked in the draft! So it's really an exercise in futility. If you want to continue to do that for bragging rights, go right ahead, be my guest.
Another option may be to start more players. My friends league starts 2 QB's, 2 RB's, 4 WR's, etc. With two less teams in the league this becomes a possibility.
The point is that this is fantasy football, not MLB. Fantasy football doesn't have a rich, 100 year history, that we should be worried about trampling on. Fuck purism, there are no "purists" in fantasy football. We shouldn't be afraid to try new things.

the number of teams in the leauge basically boils down to i dont think its cool to tell a friend no you cant participate in the only thing all your friends are doing together this year.but if we are gonna start droping coaches i say we start with the coaches who have actually been caught trying to cheat the leauge.if we have to leave someone out lets start with scumbags and dishonest immoral coaches.that would help.as far as not subbing players on a bye week i agree its gay but what are you gonna do admit it or not i know that damn near every team has been guilty over the years.as far as having 5 allstars on every team i feel there are some teams that only have one or two.one good season doesnt make you a superstar. but i guess that whole thing is an opinion anyway.i dont think it ts that fun to have a leauge full of allstar pact teams determining the leauge the order of the draft or who gets played by injury.sorry if anyone is offended but while the leauge is not pure that is due more to hypocrisy than the way we write the rules.

Booth, you're right. The baseball league is too damn small. That's why I play the football league, to promote it! Come to the dark side everyone, play ball! Other than that, there's no real comparison. I don't mind any mentions to the sport and take no offense. It's all good press I basically play to keep in touch with people. I used to even call the guys I played that week to say what's up. And I like trade negotiations because that's like about the only thing to talk about with you guys. If people don't like that a guy can play without being a numero uno football head, that's stupid. I did not drive to fucking NY the past two years for draft day primarily to talk football - I actually like seeing you guys, fucking sue me. I fyou want an all expert NFL pannel, play with ESPN or any other million leagues out there. This is supposed to be an excuse for us guys to talk, we're not supposed to sit around and talk about our feelings. I still don't know who's being called out or for what, and assumed because there's like four guys who ever posted here and I am the least football fan in the bunch people were taking issues with me. Well I judge fantasy talent by ability to score touchdowns. Anything else means little comparitively. Grossman the unknown for McNair to me would be like trading a Kerry Wood who might no nothing or strikeout 300 for a Mike Mussina who is going to play and be above average. That's a fun trade. I love making trades and maybe I do that more than anyone. That's a lot different from letting anything fly though. There has to be something in place to just be there in case something is off, like guys ganging up to keep someone else out of playoffs or trading players for girls phone numbers. (Don't act like you haven't offered me Papo's phone number for Amani Toomer last year - Booth, you sick fuck.) I fully endorse the removal of the anonmymous trade protest, I got no problems with that. Hell, I like entire league votes for disputed trades rather than a committee. The best for me would be one guy making all the decisions, a lot to ask in a league with 12 guys with who even knows how many deals going on. But at least that way there's less of this everyone getting together to assert their personal critique and judgement of [fill in the blank]. Can we separate a thread for fantasy football bullshit versus fantasy football fun? That might go a long way. I'd rather not read the bullshit. If people hate me, I don't care. If people love me, fucking great. I love you all anyway. God bless. And Go IRISH. Hey speaking of which, early NFL draft advice: Brady Quinn is not good, his two wide receivers make him look great by catching balls that are thrown behind them and all over the place. Quinn throws spirals but misses the mark more than he makes it. Heard that Cheese, there's a rookie you don't want to actually draft next year, contain yourself. Sorry for the jokes, they help make me laugh at all this.

Your going apeshit on every single board for nothing. Maybe I misrepresented things on the phone with you. NO ONE IS TALKING SHIT. The concerns about your trades were my concerns. I have to over analyze everything as commish. Sorry if that was an insult. I understand you’re frustrated. But YOU MUST CHILL. Now your dissing me for trading buck on gameday and your threatening to start shit next draft day. I don’t so much mind you talking shit about my trade but I WILL SLAUGHTER ANYONE WHO BRINGS BEEF TO DRAFT DAY. As far as people insulting everyone with blanket statements. Don’t mince words. You want a piece of somebody. Take them on directly. Matter of fact save the rest of us from reading it. Email them directly and tell them they are a scumbag. The league is to keep kids in touch. The message board serves the same purpose. Its not supposed to be the shit on each other game. Hopefully I am taking this too seriously and people are just running their mouths. I will await the emails telling me I am a scumbag.

Your star Wide receiver goes deep. Pass interference. Ball marked where the catch would have been made without the penalty.= no points your WR that sucks............I guess it is fair because it can happen to us all but it still blows.
