I agree wholeheartedly. What's good for the goose is good for the gander, whatever the fuck a gander is. It seems to me that it is ok to target and make fun of groups of people who were part of an immigrant minority many, many years ago. This is simply because these groups were assimilated into the country's makeup completely and are now many generation American, therefore now born of America, confident in their Americ-ality (?).

However, if the Jews, and blacks can't take a joke, and always want to take the high ground, politically correctly speaking of course, then it shouldn't be right to make fun of anybody.

However, political correctness has gone way to far. Wal-mart should just sell t-shirts that make fun of everybody, but then the Jews and blacks would be up in arms protesting.

I saw one of the black kids wearing this t-shirt the other day. It had the Warner Brothers logo on it, WB, hugely printed in the middle of the shirt. Above the logo, it said, "If you see the cops coming...." (and underneath the logo it said)... "Warn A Brother." I was cracking up. Does this count as making fun of blacks?

I feel like Irish in this nation are a watered down myth that have no real meaning (please spare the geneological jokes in response to this sentence). I don't think the average John Doe from the street could tell you where the country is on the map, anything about it's history, any of the stereotypes other than the alcohol, or even if they are part Irish themselves.

It's like how Santa becomes Christmas, even though Christmas has nothing to do with Santa. So people hug fat men in furry ret coats and give each other presents and tell themelves they celebrated Christmas, even if they are Jewish, atheists, or Satanic pig-fucking Pagans. Likewise, people here wear green and drink beer and call that being Irish.

Any fucking how, I am I think on the order of 3/8 Irish, but I get extra bonus points for the whole Notre Dame thing. Even then, I'd never run around calling myself Mcbuckley the Red or anything. I remember people seeming to be of the belief that there were white people and there were Irish people in NY. As if it were bad to be mainstream white guy but OK to be oppressed Irish guy. So everyone and their brother said they were Irish, not white. And made it cool. And used that to excuse themselves while they got drunk and fucked. Egad man, I have lost my point. I was reading up on a DC politician I liked after I saw him ream out some guy on CSPAN one night, Tim Ryan. Turns out Mr. Ryan sponsored a bill on March 19, 2006 to try for an Irish American Month. You know, like Black History Month:

I think there should be Irish Month, Then an Italian Month, then a German month, and so on and so on until they realise that america is just too diverse to have a month for everybody. Then we can abolish this sillyness and all our children can be taught AMERICAN HISTORY all year long.
