;D Everyone loves SPACE. That's right, Kirk, the final frontier. Where this will take us, no one knows. Just like this thread. Hopefully this won't get too scientific or politicized. But I like space and thought maybe others did too and we could say meaningful things about it. Hardly a lofty goal.

Mars. I remember talking about this before online I think. Not sure where that ended. NASA continues to probe this planet with manless missions which are cheaper and less complicated if lost than manned flights. I think science needs men up there if they want to get into some real experimenting and exploring. Did NASA commit to this yet? Who knows.

Titan. This is a s.hithole moon around Jupiter I believe. I think Carl Sagan thought it the most likely to sustain life under a gas cloud and heated atmosphere below. Something like a Green House effect. Recent satellites and actually disproving this somehow. I only read the Yahoo two minute blurbs and passed, but it is interesting to know how much we don't know.

life outside Earth. I think when we finally find some evidence everyone will be happy for a while on Earth. We've been prepared with UFO stories for decades and the movie ET will promptly become a box office thriller again (complete with DnD reference at the beginning!). I doubt we will find anything in our solar system however. Well, anything not primordial at best. Evidence of a speck of crap that randomly joined together is not life in my book.

Dark matter. Everyone is all about this being a combination of neutrinos and black holes. What if light itself bore a miniscule mass, what would that make a difference? yes, this is all out I disagree. (EDIT: I disagree = replacement for M-Y A-S-S)

Teleportation. OK, everyone loves this spell in DnD, but there is something they are able to do where two particles are bound together and will exhibit the exact same properties no matter what the distance between them, such that if you affect one you will have the same exact effect on the other. No, I have no clue what the f.uck this means or if this is just the equivalent of discovering the clap-on light switch (not amazing).

what a great topic ,i wish i thought of it.

it has been a very interesting couple of month in the space programs of earth, here are some of the most interesting highlights.

two robot drones land on mars and start thier search for life.

the first privayely owned maned space craft leaves earths atmosshpere.

the close up pictures of saturn and titan.

brazil will launch its first rocket.

the bush space inishative has proven to be very inspiring for me personally. good job gw.

Chinamen in space, don't forget that! Seriously, that is big news. I am having visions of them sweeping space of all satellites and claiming there is no rights to international space and randsoming off the pieces or using them to build themselves a space station. Ba.stards.

I think the private missions are blown out of proportion. The technology outcosts the revenues. Dudes need to make money and need a larger client base then In Sync band members if they want to start a franchise. I figure this means there has got to be a severe reduction in the costs, probably with better technology, or some unforeseen revenues to make it stand on its own legs. Unfortunately, the only things I can think of that would be a draw to space are really dirty things. Like wild prsotitutes that will do anything illegal on earth and outrageous casinos and gladiator arenas making a come back. I hope there are better things to come than this, I just have no clue what. I went to New Mexico once and that was about as outlandishly boring and plain and beautiful in its own right, but I would never spend money visiting if I knew no one there and it cost a million times more and I might die on international television if I tried visiting. Damn it's tired, hope that doesn't sound too crazy.

They think the surface of Titan is orange and covered in a jelly stuff with large chunks of ice all over. The reason they were curious is the atmosphere they believe matches most closely of any planet/moon we have in our solar system with what the Earth's atmosphere was a few billion years ago. I think there are clouds that cover the surface from them being able to make greater measurements from orbit before and that's the need to get on the ground to check out the actual stuff that is there.

I have been following this titan business aswell. Titan is the largest moon of saturn and is the largest moon in our solar system. Titan is larger then both Mercury and Pluto.
Its a reall big moon, titanic even.

Titan has some kind of atmosphere due to humidy and they say theres ice there. I guess anythime theres anything but rock people say "There could be life there". I think 2 of Mars's moons Europa and the other one have some capacity like this.
I think its cool we are still going into space. I think its dumb that lots of different countries are now running completely serperate space programs instead of chipping in. I think its really guy that a dozen or so countries have space programs that consist of training one of their guys to go up on our equipment. Kindof like poland's contribution to the Iraq war coalition being a wild eye jeep dirver named Lars.

Space always seems to be about the search for life. But i often wonder if they no theres no chance of that and they only say thats what it is all about to gain public support as all the ignorant masses think it would be cool to met Yoda or ET. After everything i have read heres my take on ET life.
Basically life or whatever we would classify or be able to detect as life can only occur under the craziest circumstances. Like the right 5 millon different particules all ending up in the same place at the same time under the right ciircumsances. The thought of this occuring anywhere where else is astronomical. So it seems impossible there would be life anywhere. But we are talking astrology. The pefect palette for soemthing atronomical to occur. Givin the virtual inifinite size of the universe and the immense age of it. I think it probably happened somewhere else. But it could have been anywhere at anytime. Even if it happened right next door though it could have been 80 zillion years ago. So i say yes, there was life soemwhere. But we will never be able to find it.
Still i think space travel is good. I think the human spirit is something to be catered to. History has shown us that the method of developing the technology has created technologicval breakthroughs in numerous fields. Basically anytime you get that many smart guys in one room you discover cool shit. So i am down with the space travel baby. I think the apha space station is the bomb and next time space exporation becomes the thing to do it will provide an awesome starting point for whatever we want to do next.

Hey guys, my shitty school held its first ever Science Fair. Every class had to do one project as a class instead of every student doing their OWN project and bringing it in. Well, with all this talk of Space, I just had to do the Solar System with my class. It was a really big hit. We did a model of the Solar System and all the planets in styrofoam. We painted them and put up a back board will all facts about the planets and even made it interactive with trivia cards that you can read to test your knowledge of the Solar System.

The project came out more beautiful than any of my wildest dreams. I think we have a shot to win the fair. Whew-hoo!

Yes, I too have constucted a means of exodus. Finally I have worked all the kinks out of the nueral transponder in my dimensional transpolarisation conduit.
