And the Oscar for Breakthroughs in the technical area of computers and electronics goes to Popo, Buck, and Rob G.
This is Popos third nomination and first win for his ability to clone a DVD. Yes its true. Now Rob G and Mike P can directly clone DVD movies, Spectacular. I have purchased my last DVD
Rob G and Buck share their award for their Abilities in the field of net confenrencing. Its true. We now communicate woth microphones and webcams with synced audio video for free. Buck has even played D&D from N. Carolina this way. More then this though is Rob G and Buck must now be acknowledged by the title of administrator as we now have their tools. Thats right. We have discovered how to take control of other computer by remote access. That is I can take control of bucks computer in north carllina using my computer as a terminal. In a window i my computer i will see Bucks desktop. There i can activate all his porgram and use all his shit. Buck just sits there and sees where i move my mouse. Furthermore using this tool i can save things on his computer or even use the ""File Transfer" to directly send files at maxmimum speed.
Oh its true, Computers are our bitch.
I firgured this was a good thread to leave open. Perhaps here we can help each other do stuff on the computer and such.

Just rehashing something I do too. I put an audio cable from my speakers and split it into the microphone input when I want to record something. This bypasses all the protections imaginable on the software side and lets me record anything that is playable on the Internet.
Also that computer control shit is great for helping your feeble parents fix whatever they broke on their computer without having to go visit them in person.

Also wanted to add that for my web camera I actually just use my regular digital camera. It is cool.
And I had to buy an AC adapter to power the camera. Each AC input is modified by the companies such that there is not one single adapter for everything and they try to trick you into thinking you need their special adapter made just for your device. I went to Radio Shack and got this thing that can be configured 42 different ways and was half the price they wanted for my device's adapter via Fuji.

Via MSN Net Meeting Papo sent me a combined 500 MB of DnD books that he had downloaded from Kazaa. I burned them to CD for my personal use. It was very easy and very quick to do.
Not sure if it could ever work out nice this way, but this means that one person with a Kazaa/Napster type program could scan for and download files and then forward them to other people. This means that it is theoretically possible to limit the shareware virus/trojan exposure to a single PC that a small network of friends could use to search for files online. As in, the guy with the best virus scanner and fastest Internet connection. Just a theorum I thought worth sharing.

Sounds like DKB wants other to take the risk while he reaps the bebefits. SCUM BAG.
I'll bite though. If you ever want something downloaded just let me know and I will battle to hell and back to bring back the riches for the venerable DKB

More to the point, one guy could have the elite premium file sharing service and other guys share the costs for enrolling in that premium service.

THE FINAL CONCLUSION TO WEBCONFERENCING RESEARCH: Well In our endeavors to find the best methods of internet communication. The final analisis is this.
SKYPE: This is free internet telephone. The voice chat here is the best ever. Far superior to everything else. No lag whatsoever. If you have firends that live in bumblefuck this is the way to screw the phone company. I do not belive however there is voice confercning for more then 2 people. and thers no webcam option. But if your computer is deisal and so is your internet connection you should be able to use a seperate prgram to establissh webcam
Yahoo Messenger: This is best for casual use. Has all the options just is not particularly great at any of them. Though the webcam on Yahoo is best i have seen. This is also free.
Netmeeting: This comes on eveyrones computer as an administrative tool. Its basically like yahoo messanger but the webcam aint great. The audio chat is ok, about as good as Yahoo. It does have the best File transfer. So if you wanna send your buddy something really big this is the way to go. There is some additonal tools that are kindof crazy like the Desktop sharing option. This allows your buddies to take full control of your computer. Thats right. My desktop would then appear in a small window on your computer and you execute any program you wanted. Obviously this same option will allow you to access your computer by remote from any internet capable computer in the world. Preatty neat.
HARDWARE: The microphone that comes with your computer works fine if you speak directly into it. Buckley picked up a headset with built in mic which also works great. I bought a webcam for 30 dollars which is great webcam and has built in mic which picks up sound from a distant. So 30 dollars is all you need for full capabilites. Buckley has a digital photography cmaera. You know the kinds you use to take pictures. He hooks that up to his computer and establishes the best web image i ever saw.
