Now i will rant about Batman

Specifically Batman the Animated series and all its successers.

The batman cartoon of the 90's was the bomb. They breathed fresh air into Batman Lore and reforged the hero better then ever. The scripts was amazing and inovating. They would often switch up the narrotive so as to see the story through a different perspective. Say robin or the villian or a cop. One episode is actually about a 10 year old boy who finds Batman unconsious after a battle. The kid hides batman and helps heal him while avoidin the penguin. Good shit. The scipts were definatly geared more for adults aswell. Batman was often viscious.

I have watching many of these. Downloading like a fool. Its great. There was actually a whole bunch of these series and some movies.

The Series:
1- Batman the animated series
-----It all began here. Later in the series Dick Grayson comes in as the first Robin.

2- New adventures of Batman (feat. Nightwing & Batgirl)
------This was really just the original series continued. Dick Grayson becomes nightwing. Batgirl shows up. And Tim Drake becomes the new kid robin. (note in the comics the second robin was actully Jason Todd who was later killed by the Joker). This series was released under a couple of different titles including "Gotham Knights" and sometimes on a rotating cycle with the superman show which they called the Batman superman adventures.


3-Superman the animated series
-------All about the man of steel. Darkseid showed up often as did all the classic superman villians. In one episode Superman goes to Gotham to find Batman. And the last 3 epsiodes of the show is a 3 part mega adventyure teaming batman and superman.

4-Justice League
-------Superman, Batman, Martian Man hunter, Wonder woman, The Flash, the negro Green Lantern, Hawkgirl.
Most of the show is Batman dissing the gay superheroes and him having to save the day.

5-Batman Beyond
--------Its 40 years past the original batman series. Bruce wayne is a decreped old man. He trains the new batman. A punk teenager. Its in the future in fututristic gotham.

Batman TAS ("Almost got Im')
All the Batman villians enjoy a game of cards and exchange stories about how each of them have come close to catching Batman. At the end Joker reveals his plot to finally catch batman but it dont exactly go down like that. AWESOME ENDING

Batman TAS ("The Mechanic")
The Batmobile is virtually destroyed. Batman must get it fixed. So he return to the man who built it. We get to meet Earl Cooper. the engineering genius beyond Batmans agdgets.

Batman TAS ("Bane")
Thorn hires the most poweful villian of all to kill Batman. BANE.

New Adventures (the Demon Within)
On eof Bruce Waynes friends is Jason. An immortal from the days of Pendragon who secretly lives as a living prison to a demon trapped long ago.

New Adventures (Old Wounds)
Nightwing tells Robin the story of his and Batmans Breakup.

New Adventures (Knighttime)
Superman stars in this one. Superman comes to Gotham to find Batman missing and gotham in terror. Superman disguises himself as Batman and travels arround with Robin. They run into Bane.

Superman (World Finest 1-3)
Also known as the Batman/Superman adventure movie. Joker find cryptonite and makes Lex Luthor pay him millions to kill superman but Batman comes to Metropolis. AWESOME>

Superman (the main Man)
Intergallactic Bounty hunter LOBO is sent to capture superman. This episode sets up the story of a 2 part epidsode in the Batman beyond seires called "The Call"

Batman Beyond (The Call)
The new Batman is approached by Superman. Superman is older but still in action. He wants Batman to jpoin the justice league. Now this is the future so there are all new members. But they are being killed off. It turns out superman has turned evil. Bruce Wayne tells the new batman to kill superman.

Hey I have seen most of those I really liked the card game ending episode. I never caught the Bane episode with Supes in the costume.

If you like Batman maybe you will like the new series on Cartoon Network, Teen Titans. It stars Robin, not the Nightwing Robin, the little one.

The show is serious but whimsical at time which I think makes the show more fun. Robin has the serious Batman attitude which of course makes him the leader and the supporting cast is pretty cool too.

The art is great.

Justice League is also very cool but I have problems catching it when it is on. Superman died the other night and Batman refused to go to his funeral. He kept doing the detective thing, not believing that Supes could possibly be dead. Of course this was a two-parter and I missed the second part. I assume that Supes can't be dead and Batman actually saved him somehow.

Batman actually goes to Supes grave and tells the tombstone how much he actually respected him. It was great.

I know this is thread is in the Old and Outdated category, but this is worth something new.

I was watching Justice League Unlimited on Cartoon Network the other night and came across an episode dedicated to Batman, so I had to watch it. This one centered around the Batman Beyond character, Terry McGuinest. Apparantly, Terry has gotten bigger and stronger so that his body type now resembles Bruce Wayne, which is cool.

But the whole episode centered around McGuinest being pissed off at never having the choice of being Batman, which is ridiculous at first. Turns out, that the head of some gov't organization that worked with the Justice League realized that the world couldn't do without a Batman when Bruce Wayne finally passed on and contrived to create a new Batman. They took some of Bruce's DNA from a battle scene and implanted it into Terry McGuinest's father. Bruce's DNA eventually overwrote Terry's father's DNA. When Terry's father impregnated Terri's mother, it was really Bruce Wayne's DNA that combined with the mother's DNA to create Terry. Therefore, Bruce Wayne is really Terry McGuinest's father.

Totally Bizarre!

Now Terry is big like Bruce and has elements of Bruce's personality, but even in the show, they say that Terry's brain isn't as smart or as sharp as Bruce's.

Crazy huh?

That's why I love this cartoon. It's always evolving. When we were growing up, cartoons were very simple and then began evolving, becoming more complicated, with continuity from one episode to the next.

Somehow, the majority of cartoons these days seem to de-evolve, become less complicated. Is it just me?

I saw some of that episode too. Very interesting. That whole series has been very cool including the latest batman series. I would like to get my hands on all of the episodes of Justice league, Justice league unlimited, Batman, batman beyond, all the movies, the superman stuff. The problem is I cannot find a coherent cronology or episode guide that tells me what is out there.

You can find Batman the Animated Series seasons 1 - 3 each in their own boxed sets in Wal-Mart or Target in the kids section. I just had to buy all these sets. They are awesome. Also, Superman the Animated Series just came out in it's own boxed set.

The original Justice Leage also just came out in it's own boxed set as well.

Is there a difference between Justice League and J.C. Unlimited? Aren't these both on Cartoon Network?

I like the new Batman but it's just to Japanized for me. Where is Commissioner Gordon? Now they have this Asian chick, give me a break. Same thing with Teen Titans, too Japanized, with that Japanese music at the beginning. Shee-it.

Best way to collect all the Batman animated stuff, but it whenever you see it, that simple.
