This can only garner support for a live action film to be shot in the future. Remember when we used to go to Con-Con in Danbury? When it was still cool? I remember a petition was passed around in an effort to try to get a movie made and I thought it was a great idea. But do you think a studio will back a movie that will cost at least 100 million to make just after Lord of the Rings just finished?

I'd rather see these things in cartoon form.
I hate that moment in the movie when you go "oh, there's the special effect." LOTR did that really smoothly, but remember the Balrog? A real deal DnD movie full of monsters and spellcasting would have hundreds of things that could be like that.
Plus I like mature cartoons. I just watched Aeon Flux again. And Ghost in the Shell. Some shit like that for DnD would be cool. Ninja Scroll with more meat. The DND cartoon all grown up.
Who am I kidding, any DnD movie I'd watch!

You know they never stopped writting these books right.
Aside from the Dragons of a Fallen Star trilogy that Hickman and Wies came back to write Weis is also writing another trilogy starting with Amber and Iron. That dumb bitch Mina from the last trilogy is in it. And now fuckign hickman and weis are writting another trology which takes place in between the original chronicles books. Remember like shit totally happened in between those books. Anyhow I just reread Chronicles 1 and picked up Dragons of the Dwarven Depths which is essentially Chronicles 1.5. But this fucker is 600 pages. The second "NEW CHRONICLES" is out too. It has Soth on the cover and takes place between Chronicles 2 and 3. Fucking crazy shit.

I always knew that Weis and Hickman would revisit the original Dragonlance storyline between books one and two because all of a sudden Lord Soth shows up with little explanation and is totally loyal to Kitiara. There was a whole adventure to Icereach, (I think it was called), where they got a Dragon Orb, etc. I'm just surprised it took so long for them to get around to it.
On a side note:
I recently ordered the DVR package from my cable company so I can digitally record stuff, like TIVO. I am now recording the original "Dungeons & Dragons" cartoon from the eighties. It's only on once a week at like 6am on Sat mornings. But I saw an episode the other day, I forgot the title, (I'll go back and look and post it later), at the end of the episode, Venger is flying off into the distance and the heroes are walking away, Dungeon Master appears in between them, unseen. Presto is overheard saying "I wonder if Venger was ever any good." Diana says, "I doubt it."
Then Dungeon Master says, "You are wrong my young ones. There was good in Venger once. Everybody makes mistakes. Venger was mine."
This gives such credence to that last episode script that is flying around the net.

Yeah yeah mad shit happened between those books. Do you remember there was a series of like 12 Dragonlance Modules in first edition where you essentially played the companions along the Chronicles story line. Modules 3 and 4 of that series actually detailed the events of what occcured between Chronicles 1 and Chronicles 2. I will be interested in seeing if any continuity is maintained with this more then 20 years later. TIVO is the best thing in the world. I have the entire D&D cartoon on 2 DVDs. I can copy them for anyone anytime. Thanx to fred for that.

I had a few of those modules and tried to DM them, but nobody liked them because they were so scripted. You had to follow the path the Companions took or you couldn't be successful and if you read the books, like Dave and I had, there was no mystery or adventure.
I would be curious to see if there was any continuity there as well. Perhaps Weis and Hickman had outlined for their books the continuation of the story but due to length, they had to cut it out, so they included it in the modules instead? Interesting.
Hey, could you make me two copies of the cartoon? I would love to have all the episodes!

Yeah i ran alot of fucking modules back in the day but anytime I looks at those Dragonlance ones there was like nothing I could even use from them. I remember when Buckley moved to norte dame he started playing D&D with some dudes out there. He said they played dragonlance. He said the DM made him play a Kender and that at one point during the first adventure the DM dragged him aside and said "OK, this is the part where you pretend to be the Dragon". SOOO GAAAAAAYYYYYYYY This is preatty funny. The first page of the new book Dragons of the Dwarven Depths picks up directly after Chronicles 1. A draconian is standing over Verminards body and sends for a healer. Apparently Verminard did not die there. CRAZINESS. Also, I am sure I have mentioned this before but "Devils Due" an awesome new comic company has been producing comics based on D&D novels. They have done most of the early drizzts and are working their way through the Dragonlance stuff. These are comic adpatations of the novels. I checked out Chronicles one and it was COOOOLLLL. Ken did I ever send you mad Cable comics on disk with a comic veiwer?

Yeah, you sent me Cable and Deadpool. I read every single one in a few days. They were awesome! aND THE COMIC VIEWER WAS GREAT. It was easy to use, easy to scroll through pages, and the art didn't suffer very much.
This Devil's Due company only makes comics based on D&D novels? How are they? Is the art good? I'm spoiled from those great Image artists from back in the 90's.

Yeah Yeah Cable and Deadpool. I did I not send you every appearance of Cable ever?
No Devils due does alot of shit. I originally found out about them when they first started a few years back they bought the Transformers and GI Joe properties off Marvel and produced awesome comic lines with Image-like artwork. Their art is like a step below what you remember. Its really freaking good. Even on the DnD shit. I read the 8 part series for Chronicles 1. I suprised how much of the story they got in there. Most impressive. And yes with the good artwork you finally get to see jst how hot Laurana, Tika, and Kitiara can be.
