I have not seen spiderman 2 yet but i know all the stuff they did in it. I think its awesome how they foreshadow Villians in this series.

In spiderman one they introduce Harry Osborn who will become Green Goblin 2. But most likely they will call him Hobgoblin.

(Comic Geek Notes: To my knowledge their are 4 goblin villians, Green Goblin, Green Goblin 2, Hobgoblin, and Demigoblin)

Now in second Movie they introduce Doctor Curt Conners (he was mentioned in the first film) who will become the lizard.

Also they introduce John James Jamesons son the astronaut who will become Man-Wolf.

Strange they would include Man-Wolf because hes like the least popular spidey villain ever. Except that the anstonaut character is important as it is him who brings back the symbiant who will become Venom.

I read somewhere that charcter of Eddie Brock appears in both spidey films as a journalist at the Boogle. I dont remember this and never remember any thing like this from the comics.

Heres my guess

Spiderman 3: Hobgoblin and Lizard
Spiderman 4: Venom with small appearance by Man-wolf and the whole plot line where spidey changed to the black costume.
Spiderman 5: Introduce Sandman and mysterio and full on attack of the Sinister Six.

One note I wanted to make was that the Batman movies really started to suffer when they had more and more villians and characters in each movie. Remember Batman 4 had 3 heroes and 3 villians.

Theres simply no way to develope that many charcters. So I hope they keep this to a minimum. And no I dont want to see any of the Spidey alllies like Black Cat. Though i would like to see the bug metal dude that lives in spideys apartment building but serves no other purpose then that.

I logged onto the movie message board and couldn't be happier that there was a new Spiderman thread. This is great.

Actually, the black symbiote costume was brought back by Spidey himself from the Secret Wars I campaign. When Spidey was originally transported to the Secret Wars world, his costume was all ripped and messed up from a fight he had been taken away from. He asked the Beyonder for some clothes and the Beyonder pointed Spidey to a clothes-making machine. The Black Symbiot popped out (Spidey was unaware it was a living thing), and began wearing it. He discovered later that it was a symbiote.

I was meaning to ask you that question. Originally, Harry Osborne became the Hobgoblin right? Then Spidey killed him, and then the Hobgoblin came back and the search for the new Hobgoblin's identity went berserk. Flash Thompson was actually the Hobgoblin for a while. I still don't know who was the second Hobgoblin. Or am I completely wrong?

Curt Connors name was mentioned in the first. Peter Parker worked for him and was fired for being late all the time. I loved this foreshadowing. It was even better in the second movie, as Curt Connors showed up, conspicuously missing an arm. He will inevitably become the lizard, trying to restore his lost arm. I love this set-up.

I have no idea who man-wolf is. I don't remember him at all. I must have missed that issue. I remember Morbius, the reluctant vampire. But I didn't know J. Jonah Jameson's son became anything. Wow.

I remember Eddie Brock (Venom) working as a journalist in the Bugle because he wanted to be just like Peter Parker and was trying to take over his life, be better than him at everything, etc. I don't remember seeing or hearing Brock's name in any of the movies, I think I would remember that.

I was just comparing Batman to Spiderman with my brother last night. You are totally right, the downfall of the Batman franchise was definitely the introduction of two super-villains in each movie. It was ludicrous. None of them could ever truly work together and it just speeded the end of the franchise. Spiderman actually takes the time to delve into the backgrounds of the villains, to get to know them, feel for them, understand their origins and how Spidey fits in. I hope they never put more than one villain in any one movie. That is the strength of these Spiderman movies. At two hours in length, there is a lot more going on than just web-slinging.

I think that you are correct, the next movie will feature Harry Osbourne as the Hobgoblin. Possibly, Curt Connors will be developed, but will not turn into the Lizard yet. He will be saved for the fourth movie, where he will be the full-blown villain. Venom may be introduced in the fourth movie but will probably be saved for the fifth. The foreshadowing seems to be a trend in these Spidey movies that I hope will be continued for another 20 years.

Hey, don't forget Carnage. That storyline may need two movies to explore fully.

I mistyped. There was a Big guy made out of metal like colossus who lived upstairs from spidey. I never saw this guy do anything except wave to spidey on the steps. I think it was like a joke that theres so many super heroes in NYC that your bound to have one or two to a building.

i thought this movie sucked

doc oc was really cool though and the battles were awsome but everthing else was trash ,i was bored for most of the movie. 1.5 nuts

I thought bringing back William defoe for that scene was great. My problem is i dont like green goblin or any goblin. But still a cool thing to do. They are keeping awesome continiutity with these films and i will continue to see them until i like one.

The word is out, the villians for spiderman 3 will be Sandman and Venom.

I find this shocking as Spiderman director Sam Raimi is an old school spidey fan (pre venom and Sandman). He said he wanted to do the older villians like Lizard and it seemed at the end of the last movie they were totally gonna do Hobgoblin/Green Goblin 2 deal.

Anyhow Sandman and Venom are my two favorite Spidey villians so I thinks this is Great. If only spiderman was cool.
