UH...I'm not looking to make any money on the Jets-Nets-Rangers-Giants-Little League Playoffs-Pee Wee Soccor-Turtle Races-Bullfrog Leaping Contests-Who has the biggest pumkin contest anything, anywhere, or whatever on the planet. I'm supporting my football team playing here in NY. Also don't forget the jobs such stadiums will create in construction, service economy, etc. Not to mention the taxes the Jets stadium will create for NYC in the form of football, concerts and conventions. Do you see any of that money, no, why should you?

Travellers, especially those who are visiting these countries for the first time, should obtain an update from Corporate Security before starting their journey and consult with local management to ensure that security, reception and transport arrangements are co-ordinated: Albania Angola Argentina Armenia Azerbeijan Bahrain Bangladesh Bolivia Bosnia-Herzegovina Brazil Cambodia Djibouti Ecuador El Salvador Eritrea Ethiopia Georgia Guatemala Honduras Jamaica * Jordan Kazakstan Kenya * Kuwait Kyrgyzstan Laos * Lebanon Lesotho Libya Macedonia Mexico Morocco Mozambique Nepal Niger Nigeria * North Korea Panama Peru Philippines - (all travel outside Manila is to be avoided by non-residents) Rwanda South Africa Sri Lanka * Syria Thailand (resorts and other places frequented by foreign visitors) Turkey Turkmenistan Uganda Ukraine United Arab Emirates Uzbekistan Zambia

It may be necessary for the person meeting you to provide you with pre-arranged identification * Produce your passport only to authorised airport, airline or law enforcement staff. * Do not discuss your travel plans indiscriminately * On some foreign carriers you may be sensible to avoid speaking English where possible * Dress inconspicuously, avoid public places/government facilities and maintain a low profile.
Hotels * Select your hotel carefully from a GSK list of recommended hotels · Select floor if possible using levels above the ground floor * Choose a room if possible that has a security 'sentry viewer' in the door; always use it before you open the door to anyone * Do not use your name when answering the telephone in your room and do not give out your name unless it is necessary. If in doubt, contact hotel reception for assistance.

CREATE WHAT JOBS? FOR THE UNIONS WHO ARE GOING TO GET THE CONTRACTS. AS A TEACHER AND PUBLIC SERVICE GUY WHO DEPENDS ON STATE MONEY TO KEEP YOUR CLASS SMALL ENOUGH AND WITH OUT WEAPONS OR MISFITS ITS A SHAME TO SEE YOU FEEL THIS WAY.
BUT IN 4 YEARS AFTER BLOOMBERG SUCKS OFF THE IOC LONG ENOUGH TO GET THE OLYMPICS AND THE JETS FINISH ANOTHER LOSER SEASON AND 35,000 TEACHERS ARE ON STRIKE FOR THE MONEY THAT WENT TO THE STADIUM, YOU AND THE 50,000 PEOPLE WHO THOUGH IT WOULD CREATE A JOB FOR THEM, CAN STAND IN FRONT OF THE CROWD AND TELL THEM YOU WERE JUST SUPPORTING YOUR TEAM INSTEAD OF YOUR (OUR) LIVELYHOOD.

It seems to me that you believe that the the stadium will have some adverse effect on you personally. I'm not sure why or how you believe this, as I am not sure how or why you come to the conclusions you continually post. Yes, I want the Jets to play in NY, this is no secret. Jets fans as well as Giants fans have wanted this for 20 years. At least the Jets have stayed in one place for the last 20 years, unlike the geriatric Raiders who can't seem to make a decision where they should play, maybe next year they'll be in Tibet, hopefully buried under an avalanche. ;D As for your ideas on how the stadium will effect NY, read slowly... 1. Politicians aren't allowed to use tax dollars for their campaigns, that's why they have fund raisers where private citizens or corps. or groups, donate money to them. 2. Unions ensure that people like you and me have and keep their jobs. People who pay union dues are working stiffs like you and me and Rob and Lar and Buckley. What's the matter with guys like us having a steady construction job for a few years while the stadium gets built? Those people will be employed, will make money, will spend their money, putting it back into the economy, creating more jobs for guys like us. 3. The stadium will EMPLOY people, generate TAXES for the city which will in turn run programs, pay police, teachers, sanitation, DOT workers, etc. 4. If the stadium brings in the Olympics then even more revenue will be generated for the city, making it more financially stable, able to invest in infrastructure, like roadways, electrical grids, etc. 5. The stadium is an INVESTMENT for NY that will pay off big time for the city, not that much for the state. If you want it to effect you, join a construction union and go work for the stadium project. I know the concrete Union is looking and hiring because a friend of mine just got hired for them and is working at the WTC pouring concrete. ;D 6. Any money brought into the city WILL PAY ME! Where do you think the city gets the money to pay my salary? By taxes generated from the city. A stadium that is successful will ensure that there is a pool of money to draw from to pay teachers, cops, firefighters all over the city. ;D I think you just don't want the Jets back in NY. Maybe we'll move the team to Oakland, no L.A., no, Oakland, no L.A., no Oakland.....................

Basically, this is how this controversy shapes up. Madison Square Garden, along with some theatre special interest group have gotten together and formed this association called NY For Better Choices. This groups sole purpose is to defeat the NY Jets stadium construction because the stadium will result in profit loss for MSG because it will cause competition between Jets stadium and MSG for sporting events, concerts and conventions ;D. The other side of the controversy is the fact that the city and state are going to pay 600 million dollars for the retractable roof of the stadium while the Jets put up 600 million of their own dollars for the construction of the stadium . Most people opposed to the stadium are angry that the city and state is putting up the 600 million for the retractable roof . Most of these people cite the fact that firehouses are closing, teachers are without a contract for 2 years now, the city has lost money after 9/11, etc . Where is the city and state coming up with the money if they can't keep a few firehouses open. This is all sad but true. I'm all for keeping firehouses open and getting the cities economy going. Another side of the argument are those who would rather not see any progress made in NYC at all . After all, these same people and their neighborhood groups successfully defeated the West Side Highway expansion, a project that was sorely needed in NYC , among other projects. These groups seek to maintain the status quo in NYC, which is utterly ridiculous. If the greatest city in the world can't progress, then another will take it's place and then where will the economy be ? So these groups are only shooting themselves in the foot in the long run . What I find ironic is that MSG's group is called NY For Better Choices, however, by defeating the stadium project, they will, in essence, be taking away choices from promoters looking for places to hold conventions, concerts and special events, like the Superbowl, the Olympics, etc. The stadium will cost NY some money to be sure, but I believe it is an investment that will pay off big time in tourism for events like the Superbowl and/or the Olympics, conventions, and football games . It will also give the city back some much needed pride in having a football team play in NY as well as doing a construction project this big and bold. I can only see upside , whereas JBOY can only see downside .
