Yo ROB or any others in the know. What the f.uck is up with the King Conan movies. IMDB still lists 2005 as release and this sounds impossible.

Ok heres what I understand:
King Conan: Finalized script which was worked on for years. Arnold totally contractually signed to do it. Production had completely begun. Then arnold runs for govner and says screw you. This leaves Milius (director) in total no mans land. Now Milius is the man but hes not exactly hot in hollywood right now so this is all hes got. So from what I understand they plan to move foward with another actor playing Conan. This is totally paradoxical as this project began as an idea to revitalize the franchise anew with a new actor retelling the conan saga. Then arnold said he was interested and it grew to become King Conan. The plots in King Conan deal with the introduction of Conans son and presumeble the death of conan. Opening it up for more movies concerning Conans son and a new franchise anyway. But simply so much work was put into King Conan they could not go backward. rumors persist and most recently I heard that the wrestler triple H would play Conan in this film but nothing more then that and its all flimsy.
Mad Max 4: This project is currently dead. But the deal is that the original Mad max creator director Geroge miller who was always a second rate director became HUGE with the Babe pig movies. Yes those movies made mad cream. Then he decided to do another max movie. Mel gibson said NO WAY, NO WAY, NO WAY. Then finally he said ok. Probably because they were offering him a berserk amount of money and he must hold some loyalty to the movies that made him. Anyhow I have not heard anything else on the film and i imagine mel is discusted with filmaking right now and oh yeah, passion of the christ made mel mad cream so he has no problem there. My guess is the film will get made. King Conan however most likely wont.

Great article. DKB remains king of the internet. But no one will ever be the conan that schwartzenegga was.
