I have made 2 threads for the new star wars movie. This one for NO SPOILERS and one with SPOILERS

At long last it is done. Yesterday me, Papo, Fred, Jackie, and CHeez went to see first showing of the film. The tickets sold out 4 days ago but cheez pulled some magic trick to get it. And we snuck the large man in our theatre. Nice going cheez.

The Movie was very good. But not great. Its not the best movie ever. Or the best star wars ever. Other people I was with seemed to think it was superior ti Phantom Menace and Attack of the clones. For me i thought Phantom was the worst. But Attack of the clones was very good and this one was about the same. Still i think attack might have been better. But mayeb I am just a second act kindof guy as i think Empire was the best and so too with Godfather 2.

The Questions they answer:
(1)Most important for me. Why is Anykin an emaculate conception.
(2)Why does Emporor appear ghoulish
(3)Why does Anakin finally turn (Though this was hard to swallow)
(4)Why does C3PO remember nothing of this in later movies.
(5)How do luke and leia end up where they do.
(6)Whats Obi Wan doing on Tantooine
(7)How do Obi wan and Yoda become beings of light when no other Jadi has.
(8)Who is the baddest bad ass in the galaxy
(9)How does Vader end up in the suit.

So they really got alot in there. They dont explain anything about why Yoda is on Dagaba.

My problems with the movie:
The love scenes are still ass garbage. THE WORST dialogue with the poorest acting. Portman is now reduced to Christenson level.

Non of the lightsaber fights were what they could have been. Non inspired awe in me. I guess there was literally so many lightsaber fights that they could not make them all great. Thought the finale was good enough for government work.

My biggest problem is with the film as a whole. Its more a hodge podge of scenes strung together to as an account of events. Theres no pacing really, ups and downs, buildups and build downs. I attrubute this once again to Lucas's less then spectacular direction. Remember Lucas did not direct Empire and Jedi which still hold together for me as the best of these films.
Another probelm is Hayden Christian is not a great actor especially to display the emtional range needed for Anaykin. With a real actor this could have been better. And still I blame Lucas for us not identifying with Anykin. Also i hated the charcterization of the Sith. No one says, hey I am evil come be evil too. They could have and should have made the emperors poitn of view a reasonable one. But whatever.

What i really liked:
R2D2 gets down. Hes the man.
The space battle was AWESOME.
The opening tracking shot was the fucking bomb.
Yoda is the man.
They really made evil evil. This movie is hard core. People get killed and mutilated and even worse things happen. Bad news. There is a part where they say many cried. I did not cry but was outraged and wanted to kill me some sith.
It was action packed both with action and plot points and revelatriosn. That was great.
Ian Mcdiarmond was fantastic as the Emperor. I think this actor will see a revitalization of a less then satellar career.
Some of the new information was awesome. i wont say what it was but i was impressed.
I really enjoyed them making the clone wars cartoon count. In the very beginning of the movie General Greivus is coughing and wont know why unless you saw clone wars. COOOLLL.
It really was pectaculr and all shoudl see it. I gotta see it again then i iwll know i truly feel.

A lot of crying eh? Sounds like they put Jar-Jar back in it then... Just Kidding!!! I can't wait to get in the theatre and see this for myself, thanks for the review. I can get free tixx, but I have to wait until there are not full crowds for the shows, which could take a couple weeks.

I have fully absorbed this film into my brain. I saw it again and have the home DVD version they have just released on main street.

I loved the movie the second time I saw it. It really is fucking awesome. Better then attack of the clones. It might be the best of them all second only to Empire. I cant tell. Return of the jedi had some real crap in it but the climax to Jedi was flawless.

There were some things I hated in it. But there simply so much. If a normal movie has 100 seperate compnents one might like or hate. This movie has 1,000. And I was shitting on Lucas's abilities as a director but there were some spectacular scenes. Notable the execution of the infamous "Order 66" which is a powerful scene which me thinks will become a classic for the ages.

This movie fucking awesome.
Now i must rant somewhere where people have seen the movie.
