Concerning City state of the invinicble overlord: The new overlord book is the reenvisioning of the original overlord published by Judges guild many decades ago. The overlord we know and love was actually made by Mayfair games. In the 80s mayfair bought the rights and changed alot of shit. So the new stuff aint nothing like the old stuff becuase it based on the really old stuff.
But i could use it anyway as you men killed every NPC and forced most of the city to be revuilt anyway. ====================== The new books are OK, They have gone back and republiused much of 3.0. They have cleaned up some stuff, have powered down some stuff that was nuts and powered up some stuff that was shit. The Player Guide to Faerun contains all the info needed to adjust Forgotten realms to 3.5.
At this point it occurs to me that they have made a decision to make 3.5 even more high powered then 3.0. The feats and spells are just better all the way arround.
The have made the game a little tighter which i like. So if it becomes monetarily thesisiable i will make the crossover to 3.5. Just in time for 4th edition.
You could run a fine campaign with the core books and the complete series (note the theives book for the complete series is yet released).

I bet its just the old DMG with a new cover. That would be appropriate.

www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ru/20050422a"Undermountain Contest We've set aside one room from the series, and we invite you to describe it. Provide an account of this room, up to 2,000 words in length, and your creation could end up as an official chapter in the D&D website's Return to Undermountain series. And as no explorer should return empty-handed, if we choose to publish your entry, you'll be compensated for your worthy endeavor (that's fortune and fame!)."

Yes, I have waterdeep book. I was most unimpressed by that very thin book that retails for 35 dullars

DnD needs to have an online service you pay for that delivers things to your e-mail. Like $5 a month gets you pdf files of 2 modules a month and 5 NPCs. Cats are too old and lazy to have to keep searching this stuff out, when WOTC could do it right. At least with fancy pictures too. Something like a subscription service. They should also host a subscription service for an online radio program. There they could talk about rules and even host interviews with people. Plus that would all be advertising for their overpriced books.
