I do think the media does a disservice by reporting rather unfiltered on issues. The reason they focus on where the hurricane did not hit is because there are literally people sitting on rooftops begging for help. There is usually not this much media coverage for the wreckage of storms because usually there is nothing to see but devastation - people don't usually sit around their ruined homes after the storm en masse. So there is a crowd to see and they put a camera there. But never do they care that this happens to Florida often or that it actually wrecked lots of Mississippi this time. No, there is human suffering to be seen in New Orleans so they just stare at it like a car crash on the side of the road. To me, that is not reporting. Because they ignore situations that do not produce that effect. For this reason, I had long suspected that much of the hearsay reports about murders and rapes in the stadium as well as the shooting at the rescue workers were not news but sheer gossip born of hysteria. But maybe it is all true. If it is, where are the arrests. This states more to the inability of black people as a race in this nation to trust the role of police and law in society. It is an intriguing connundrum. You would think they should know that they as a people need that support more than any other people given the disproportionate representation in the poorest ranks of society and corresponding increasingly greater risks to be the victims of crimes. I want to not believe that there were so many problems among the destitute and suffering in New Orleans. And if there were, then I want to believe that someone took an accounting and pressed charges against the guilty. I really want to believe all that. Somehow it is a hollow feeling.
FEMA trains on more threatening issues to more people. Like terrorism or nuclear stuff like Chernobyl. I would presume that a city on the shore and below sea-level that refuses to improve its safeguards and fails to implement evacuation plans is not on its agenda. Nor should it be. However, the people stranded and needing help is something they should have the immense resources and training to assist. Inexplicable.

Mr Gault said that FEMA has 3 Major trainign scnarios. Models they train on protocol and such.
The Three models they use are 1)Terrorist attack in New York 2)Earthquake in LA 3)Flood in New Orleans
If this is true theres just no fucking excuse.
Concerning a wake up call for the blakc community. The thought I have seen on the shows i have been watching is that this is all blown out of proportion. There were no rapes or murders. I think that Black leaders are gonna say this and convince whitey to perpetuate this lie cause it will only encourage white on black racism to accept what happened. Or maybe it is hysteria. All I know is this shit better get looked into.

I heard Rush talk about the crisis blame on Bush being just another thing the media has evaluated as either hurting or helping Bush. He has a point, I think, in that the effort to throw everything at the president has diluted the actual things that should stick. Cry wolf and all that.
FEMA was headed by an incompetitent buffoon with no emergency experience that already provided fraudulent and possibly illegal payments following another hurricane in Florida. Totally should have never been appointed by Bush, totally should have been removed by Bush a year or two ago after he proved his inability to serve in this role. He is a former cog in the Bush election machinery. This is crap. This is really something that should stick. I wonder if it will.
It reminds me of Conny Rice as Defense Secretary. Everybody loves Conny, but she is easy to wilt under pressure, I saw as much when she was examined before Congressional hearings on 9/11. And she has no national security background, she has theory and politics in her noggin not guns and flanking manuevers. At least that was a more forgivable sin because before 9/11 no one would have realistically believed that our nation would come under attack on our home soil. The FEMA head is totally unforgiveable because these storms come often and hard and the organization needs to play such a pivotal role in recovery efforts. It is a known factor with known responsibilities that should have had a leader with a proven background.

DO YOU KNOW WHY I NOW HATE 100% OF ALL POLITITIANS? REP. OR DEM OR WHATEVER THEY CHOOSE TO NAME THERE RIP OFF ORGS.
BECAUSE THE SECOND SOMETHING GOES WRONG BY THE HANDS OF ONE GROUP THE OTHERS IMMEDIATLY KNOW WHY AND HOW.
THEY ALL KNOW JACK SPIT ABOUT A F.U.C.K.I.N.G THING IN THIS WORLD NOR COULD ANYONE OF THEM ARGUE THERE WAY OUT OF A PAPER BAG. THEY JUST WAIT UNTIL SOME SCANDEL OR PROBLEM POPS UP THEN THROW STONES AT WHOEVER THEY CAN HIT.
ANYWAY HOW CAN YOU TRUST ANY GROUP OF PEOPLE TO DO YOU RIGHT WHEN THEY HAVE ALL THE MONEY,POWER,RESOURCES, AND TIME TO WASTE THE VERY DOLLARS YOU WORK SO HARD FOR BY GIVING IT TO COUNTRIES AND PEOPLE THAT DONT DESERVE IT.
AND THEN LET THESE SAME PEOPLE HAVE THE POWER TO VOTE ON WHEATHER OR NOT THEY SHOULD GET A RAISE.

You must host the pictures online in order to link them to the messageboard. I recommend Yahoo 360, which is cheap, free, and easy.

I must admit that the humor of that photo was lost on me at first. But now I think it would be much better if Bush caught a black man with a hook through his lip. Republicans 1:54 " and Bush opened the flood gates and washed all the "darkness" away and the city was rebuilt in the party's Image...." Poor taste I know but I give in to the racist in me sometimes....I will try....for I to love fried chicken and kool aid, and hip hop,........

Hey Xbones, I tried like hell to get the picture inserted but failed. Buck may know something better but my only thought is that either Yahoo does not let you do this or you have make the pictures public somehow. ?/

You cannot make the pictures from Yahoo public in the sense that we would need to post it here. Most the free online webpages limit bandwidth such that they block sharing hosted files whenever messageboards access them too often. You can upgrade or pay for better services I think than Angelfire or Yahoo, but I don't know what they are precisely and how that might work. I use Hello to load photos to my blog, which could be linked to, I would assume. Some ass-backwards methodology like that might do the trick. But it's really not worth all that effort when we could just click the link to the Yahoo photo album really.

man the conservative right is turning the the golden boy bush. about five years of his leadership and no bin laden , no way out of Iraq, highest oil prices i have ever seen, a rise in racial problems, top white house officials leaking the names of CIA operatives, the speaker of the house being indited, the loss of all our allies, the budget surplus, 4 airliners , two trade centers, a piece of the Pentagon and now the entire city of new Orleans, as far as I'm concerned everyone who vote4d for bush is partly responsible for all of this. now we have 3 years left of bush the haliburton whore, god bless America and may he have mercy on our souls.
