Goddamn right Booth. No guaranteed contracts = guaranteed free agency for hundreds of dudes a year. NFL contracts are as binding as handshakes.
I vow to select my playes next season either from dice rolls or the stupid lists. I know nothing of who is on what team as it is and now there is a freaking revolution of roster swapping.
I am holding out the idea that the Niners will trade down in the order to select Tuck from ND. They always let the pathetic ND players come to SF after they go undrafted, but this guy should go first round or at least before Niners second pick. They have a building named after DeBartolo at ND for a reason. I think he would make a move to get his Domers on the payroll.

Draft Day a comin,
What will the niners do. The news channels all say they gonna do a QB. Smith seems to be the preferred QB but Rodgers is a calfornia guy who wil sign any contract. Some say the niners will trade down. I think the niners wil take my advice and take the most talented player aailabel. Michigan WR Braylon Edwards. I think this is best and I belive this is what will happen. I would love for the 49ers to get Justin Tuck, Norte Dame's alltime sac leader and bad ass defensive end. Maybe the 49ers will be able to get him with their second pick. That would be spectacular. But I imagine the Redskins or eagles will skeese Tuck.
So I say: 49ers -Edwards Miami- Smith QB Cleve- Rodgers QB Bears- The auburn RB
Anyhow heres some interesting Free agent signings i saw Derrick Mason WR Signed wit Baltimore Kelly Holcomb QB signed with Buffalo Stephen Alexander TE signed with Denver left detrioit Countney Brown DE signed with Dnever Ron Dayne signed with Denver left Giants Kendrell Bell LB went to KC Scott Fujita LB signed with KC Sammy Knight S went to KC Gus Ferrotte went to Miami Tebucky Jones S went to NO Tim Dwight WR went to NE Derric Blaylock went to Jets Jay fieldler went to Jets Lamont Jordan RB went to Raiders Cedrick Wilson went to Pittsburg Kurt Warner went to Arizona Muhsin Muhammed went to Bears Drew Bledsoe went to Dallas Jeff Garcia went to Detroit Marcus Pollard went to Detroit Brad Johnson went to Minnesota Darren Sharper S went to Minnesoto Plaxico Burress went to Giants Joe Nedney went to SF Joe Jerevicious WR went to Seattle Akili Smith went to Tampa David Patten went to Washington

Don't beleave the hype, Edwards isn't even the best WR in the draft. Mike Williams is. He is like 6'5" with a 40+ vertical. Randy Moss anyone. Now that you can't lay you hands on the reciever it a foot race followed by a vertical leap. That hieght makes all the difference. I agree the niners should pick the most talented player though. They can alway pick up a vetran QB. They stick around forever. Warner to Arizona=Fitzgerald's and Boldin's stock on the rise. There is some other fantasy shit but everybody thinks different. Anyway the Niner's problems start at the top (management and or owners). Rebuilding should not take that long. Look at the Cowboys. This year they will make the playoffs. Parcells is the man. Goodluck Rob, I hope the Niners don't strike fool's gold.

Draft Results: (just the pertinent ones)
1: San Fran-------QB Alex Smith Utah 2: Miami-----------RB Ronnie Brown Auburn 3: Cleveland------WR Braylon Edwards Michigan 4: Chicago---------RB Cedric Benson Texas 5 Tampa------------RB Carnell Williams TheotherAuburnRB 6: Tennsesee------CB Adam Pacman Jones West Virginia 7: Vikings-----------WR Tro Williams N. c arolina 8: Cardinals--------CB Antrel Rolle Miami 10: Detroit----------WR Mike Williams USC 11: Dallas-----------DE Demarcus Ware Troy 20: Dallas-----------DE Marcus Spears Lousuosinanna 21: Jacksonville----WR Matt Jones Arkansas 23: Oakland--------CB Fablan Washington Nebraska 24: Green Bay------QB Aaron Rodgers Caliornia 74: Giants-----------LB Justin Tuck Norte Dame 101: Denver---------RB Maurice Clarett Ohio
Well draft day was a little wackky as usual. San Fran picked the best QB as exepcted (I did not expect this but i am stupid). San Fran further bulstered their offensive line with their other picks. Smart. The big suprise was #2 ranked QB Aaron Rodgers slipping all the way to the 24th pick. What a humiliation. Anyhow now he will be heir apparent to Brett Farve on the packers. Both the big name players who tried to come out last year but were denied by a court order came out this year. They were Mike Williams and Maurice Clarett. And Norte Dame's all time sac leader (in onlu 3 years of playing) Justin Tuck went to the Giants. The giants seem to me to do well in the late rounds. Dallas just went straight defense with 2 1st round defensive ends. And Detroit drafted a great rookie wide reciever for the third straight year. They now have the diesal young 3 wide outs with Charles Rodgers, Roy Williams and Mike Williams. Preatty good. Second day of draft is tomorro for rds 4-7. I cant wait to see who this year Mister insugnificant is gonna be.

That was crazy. QB picks are always a little ify they say; hope it works out for you. The niners have always been QB centered. Smith is crazy smart and make little mistakes. Should be good for ya...maybe? Ricky Williams isn't coming back or if he does will be traded. R Brrown will run the ball for the dolphins.

Fotball news: Hey Dallas is still moving up in the football world. So they went all defense in the draft. They also signed Drew Bledsoe. Now they got some depth in the back field by signing THE A-TRAIN Anthony Thomas. The bears no longer needed A-TRAIN cause they drafted Cedric Benson and they still have Thomas Jones starting. Note that Thomas Jones is the older brother of Dallas starting running back Julius Jones. A-Train has a hard time keeoin up with the Jones's. That was bad.
Doug Flutie ain't going no where. The 42 year old QB has returned home. Hes a legend in Boston for his colledge career and now he will play there again. The patriots signed him for a year and he will be Bradys backup. I predict Brady will get hurt and Flutie will rule the world.
More bad news for Jason White. You know him, no you dont. Hes the QB who won the Heisman this year. But he did not get drafted by any team. The cheifs let him come tryout this week and they said and I quote "He should try the arena league". DAMN
Other news: WR Steve Smith is back RB Stephen Davis back RB Shaun Alexander is still a holdout Terrell Owens is still a holdout and this cock wants to renegotiate the enormous 7 year/50 million contract he signed JUST LAST YEAR. What a dick. WR Javon Walker is holding out for renegotiations but he really got screwed. He signed a long deal for no money what so ever. STill, a contract is a contract. I will be shocked if he plays for Green Bay this year. Farve is heated.

RB Ricky Williams is coming back to the Dolphins (they should trade him and use Brown after seeing how he dos). RB O Smith(Vikings) is out for the season. K Winslow has a torn AcL.(dumb f*cker) Jerry Rice might go to the Broncos....Fantasy ...Culpepper-up...Williams back in the top 8 RBs...Winslow...in the shitter.

So it looks like the Jets West Side Stadium deal is dead thanks to that cocksucker Sheldon Silver. Actually, I can't lay all the blame at his feet. Pataki and Bloomberg failed mightily as well. These are supposed to be two powerhouses in government, yet neither of them can get a stadium or the World Trade Center built. I wouldn't vote for either of these two pricks, and I have a bleak outlook for Manhattan's future.
I was rooting for the stadium because I wanted the Jets to have their own place and be back in NY, but I also thought it would be good for other reasons as well. The Olympics coming to NY would have really been good for the city but for the country as a whole as well.
After 9/11 this country should have made a concerted effort to take on projects that were bold and daring, not just architectural, but environmental, economic, etc. Building a stadium at the same time as the new WTC, AND bringing the Olympics to NY would have sent the right message. Now, all the world has seen are some small men bickering about concessions, useless MTA land and ineffectual diplomatic negotiations between our own countrymen.
Maybe 9/11 has done more damage than we know?
If Manhattan can't change and evolve, than eventually this metropolis will whither and die and the business center of the world will slowly and inevitably move somewhere else. Then all the tenant associations, environment groups and all those who fought the stadium project can have a dilapadated husk of an island, ridden with crime, and all the stigmas that go along with, all to themselves.
As for the money, well, a lot has been made of that as well. Nobody trusts a politician, I certainly don't and our tax dollars are going to be spent on something we don't agree with anyway, why not a national symbol? Or something that will pay returns on the future of the city?
The stadium was an investment for the city, and as far as I'm concerned, a monumental failure on a human level.
I'm so disappointed.

I hear you. Thinking about it did make me think of Atlanta when they had a homegrown bomber do something stupid there and the prospects of a giant target being created. For some reason the other day I was thinking about the guy that parachuted into the boxing match and how that could be done as a delivery means for weaponery. Anyhow, maybe this deal will get done at some point down the road, but just not in time for the Olympics.
If Guiliani can't get a new Yankee stadium built, it must be damn hard for any NY politician to get any stadiums built for anything. Guiliani is like Yankees mascot practically. I would not be surprised if they gave him rings for championships the team won in the past, or a little league trophy or two for his office.

yeah, that sucks,
I wanted the stadium built too. I dont see any down side to building this. Except ofcourse the propaganda generated by the owners of the antiquated MSG.
Now the owners of the Jets are setting up their plan B. Co-ownership of the new already approved giant stadium. The giant owners would love this for two reasons. One, virtually half the cost, and with both teams under one roof they cant play at the same time so they are not competing for the same advertising and promotional income. I cant believe the NFL actual accomodates the two teams by letting them offset ech other schedule. Doesn't seem fair. Anyhow I still think Jets stadium has a chance and I hope it works out. I think Bloomberg is a genius and was precisely the right man at the right time.
